Errant Hothy
04-27-2008, 10:22 AM
Chargers have traded up...atleast this shouldn't be a CB or a S.

And it's not...it's Jacob Hester!?!?

Connor might make it to us, but would we take him?

The Pencil Neck
04-27-2008, 10:23 AM
There were a lot of trades of picked players from yesterday, did we make any?

Six picks to go before the Texans with King & Molden still on the board. (Crosses fingers)

Errant Hothy
04-27-2008, 10:31 AM
KC probably goes secondary.

The Pencil Neck
04-27-2008, 10:32 AM
There goes Charles.

I'm surprised by that one...

Oh well...that doesn't really bother me all that much.

He should pair nicely with Johnson though.

Connor to the Panthers.

What were the chances we would take a LB with our first pick in the third anyway? (denial)

Errant Hothy

Carolina should grab Conner.

And they do.

dsorc
04-27-2008, 10:34 AM

The Pencil Neck

There goes Reggie Smith to SF

Errant Hothy
04-27-2008, 10:37 AM
I can't believe Connor fell this far.

I can.

He's smallish and didn't post any great numbers at the combine. He;s got a chance to be a Zach Thomas clone though, which is probably why he didn't fall as far as Thomas did.

HoustonFrog
04-27-2008, 10:37 AM
the last few picks have been strong 3rd rounders. KC, with Charles in, has had an excellent draft

Errant Hothy
04-27-2008, 10:37 AM
KC probably grabs Tyvon Branch.

J-Russ
04-27-2008, 10:47 AM
Strengths:
Has terrific size and bulk...A great athlete....Outstanding timed speed...Tough and physical...Will come up and support the run...A reliable tackler...Smart with a great football IQ...Good instincts and awareness...A respected team leader...Three-year starter with a lot of experience...He should also contribute as a special teams ace.

Tyvon Branch, sounds like a kubiak guy.

Eagles go with Bryan Smith, OLB.

Weaknesses:
Timed speed is just average...Not very elusive and doesn't have much wiggle...He doesn't run with a lot of power and lacks strength...Is not a big play threat...Might run too physical for his own good...Durability is a concern..Upside could be limited.

yea, but on the notes he didn't bring up any of his injuries, so it might not be that serious.

Weaknesses:
Timed speed is just average...Not very elusive and doesn't have much wiggle...He doesn't run with a lot of power and lacks strength...Is not a big play threat...Might run too physical for his own good...Durability is a concern..

I would love to have Aldridge

I don't think Aldridge will have much upside in the NFL...I like Slaten, but also think he's not as tough as he could be. RB is slim pickens unless we get lucky...he the ZBS has done it for a long time, so who knows.

Didn' the Titanics get a TE from Atlanta named Crumpler.....WTF are these clowns doing. Stocking up on RBs and TEs and nor WRs? VY has to be P.O.ed. unless they are going to just have some sort of short only passing game. May not be all that bad of a though.

I think they are gearing up for the triple option...

I'm thinking this is setting up like a scaled down version of the '06 draft (#18/26 instead of #1 and no 2nd rounder).

A giant WTF moment with the first pick (for most of us anyway) that will prove masterful down the road (I hope, I hope, I hope), and drafting smart for both need and value from that point forward. At this point, I'm really pumped about the extra 3 & 6 we got from Baltimore.

I just know that I'm feeling more like I did after the '06 draft than any other draft the Texans have had.

He's not even on the spreadsheet of prospects that I have.

dude, wth. I can't find his scouting report anywhere on NFLDC; I look in the DE, Dt, and OLB section and couldn't find him. They didn't even list the school he went to in the ESPN draft tracker. LOL, the Titan took a completely unknown person.

EDIT: WINSTON SALEM - college. THey just put it up a minute ago, guess it took them a while to research mr. mysterious.

is Thomas DeCoud, FS Cal still on the board? NFL tracker is down & the family removed me from the TV with all the kicking & screaming :wild:

Do we have a mid-atlantic fascination? We've taken two guys from Virginia colleges and one from Eastern Kentucky... hmmm...

And Bennett and DRob are from Carolina, along with Mario Williams, Matt is from Virginia, and our owner is from North Carolina.

I'll take that as a 'yes'. And Schaub's from Virginia.
