Work as an NFL Media Relations Associate at one of the greatest Super Bowls ever played: check.

Run the operations of the 26,000-seat upper bowl at Reliant Stadium for all eight Houston Texans home games: check.

Implement an entire NFL team marketing campaign in Mexico: check.

Fulfill a dream: priceless.

Many people aren't afraid to dream, it's just that not many do what it takes to make them become reality. All of those cliches such as "hard work pays off" and "the sky's the limit" seem to apply to Caprock graduate and Amarillo native Daniel Velasco as he is living the NFL dream as the regional and Hispanic marketing coordinator for the Houston Texans.

"I love my job, and I love what I do," Velasco said. "Working the Super Bowl for the NFL this year was definitely a highlight, but what I do on a daily basis is, too.

"We are integrating our Hispanic marketing efforts with our overall marketing plan. I'm basically creating a new program with a new approach. I'm working closely with every department in the organization, and I couldn't be happier. Working with the NFL and their new office in Mexico City is pretty awesome as well."

I live in Amarillo, and never saw this story. Of course, I don't pay much attention to the daily news here because it's usually not anything special.

Thanks for sharing the story, Wolf!

Good to see we have two Amarillo-area products with the Texans: Chaun Thompson (played at WTAMU) and now I see Daniel Velasco (Caprock), as well.

Cool.
