I set a prayer request in the Religous forum, but since you guys are like family....

Please keep my father in your prayers. We learned tonight after his angiogram that 3 or 4 blockages exist around his heart, thus calling for a quadrupile bypass surgery.

He will be having this done either tomorrow or friday, whichever the cardiologist schedules it.

Thanks guys....rough times.

My thought and prayers are with him, you and the rest of your family.

Been through this and I know how you are feelin, I truly believe that medical technology of today will make this a lot easier and he will be fine. Just keep having faith Dante.

Well, met with the Cardiologist and heart surgeons and they are sending him in next week. They aren't classifying him as "high risk" but they are indicating that it's serious enough and needed within the week.

The docs are pretty good and assured us the procedure is fairly common with a great success rate. I guess technology has gotten so good that they now do not have to stop the heart they just slow it down with medicine.

So I appreciate all the kind thoughts and prayers. I broke down and lost it last night. Feeling a little bit better today. Thanks guys.

Thanks guys.My friend, I want to focus attention on something else that may be of benefit. Your dad may be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits (monthly check & Medicare) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI with monthly check and Medicaid insurance). As the Disability Unit Manager for our company, I over see hundreds of these type claims. Patients often are quick to say they will return to work within weeks or months only to find out that condition did not improve as they or doctors hoped. Then, an application is started losing thousands of dollars in the time that has passed. PM or I can be reached at toll free 888-488-4944 x55. I may be able to answer questions for the family. Dante, prayers are sent your way for your Dad to have a complete recovery. Yes, medicine has certainly improved over the years in treating heart disease, but, it does nothing for the emotional factor involved. Keep us posted.

Dante, I am so sorry I did not see this til today. I have had this procedure twice now. Your father and your entire family will be the focus of my prayer group this morning. When your father has the tubes removed make sure that he listens to to the respiratory therapist and does all he can to get his lungs back in working order. They will get him back up and running. The technology is so much better today then when I had my first 10 years ago. God Bless you all.

Thanks guys.

Well, he had his breathing tube taken out yesterday after a delay for low blood pressure. They had to give him a blood transfusion to get the levels back to normal. His other tubes should come out today and like you said Harry, the pulmonary (sp?) and cardiologist stressed the importance of the breathing device, because that's the key to recovery and less pain.

Well, just got back. All of the tubes are out, still having a little problem with the blood pressure. They are giving him medicine because they want to get that back up and get him walking around. Doctor says if everything goes ok, he'll be transferred out of ICU to general. After he goes to general, takes another 3 days or so.

So so far so good. Getting out of ICU is their goal...so hopefully everything keeps going ok.

Thanks again guys.

Yeah, they've told us the breathing exercises are key to a speedy recovery.

He's like "well good, now I can get some work done at home on the computer".
I immediatley followed "it's this, that got you in the hospital in the first place. SLOW DOWN!"

Thanks for the kind wishes guys. Been a rollercoaster week.

Where, and Who is one's faith put?

There are moments in one's life where everyday routine takes a pause to give you a chance to slow down and seek that out yourselves.

Dante, you and entire family has that pause. It's a wonderful time in your life. Seek those answers with all your heart, soul, and mind.

Dante, I was going to post this in your thread, but then felt that perhaps it might be just for you.

God Bless my friend.
