Don Banks has the Texans taking Leodis McKelvin (CB, Troy)

The Texans' defensive front seven is suddenly studded with playmakers in Mario Williams, Amobi Okoye and DeMeco Ryans, but Houston's secondary is the weak link. McKelvin has shut-down cornerback potential and played well against tough competition. With No. 1 cover man Dunta Robinson rehabbing a season-ending knee injury, the Texans need pass defense help now.

No Mendenhall in the 1st round?

I think as the draft nears what we do first round will be subject to how well Dunta is rehabbing and what we've got far as OL goes from last year.

Is Butler a possibility at LT? Frye? What do we do at guard? It's a deep draft at T and RB and the current thought seems to be according to the past we think we can do well at either position late in the draft.

At this point I just want an impact starter with our 1st.

Well if he is the pick make the jug machine his best friend. Well it hits a hole. Think if they can get the CB at reasonable cost that is what they'll do befor the draft. If they are priced out of the market, this guy just may be the pick.

With his prefprmance at the Sr. bowl prctices I believe someone is going to move up for Ellis. Cinci wants the guy, they better move up.

I also believe this writer has a Hard on for WRs. No one over pays for mediocre WRs any more. Get the Qb, defend the QB, protect the QB that's it. Everything else a good coach can make it work with the latter round guys. You can hold your water on WRs. Only one I've seen this week I'd spend a low one on is Caldwel. He's caught everything thrown at him. There are no Andre Johnsons in this class. There are lot of good prospect though. Every one who takes one in the first round is either desperate or foolish. There is not that much difference between a first round guy and the third round guy. Not eight million anyway.

Not a bad pick, but I'd have a hard time passing on OT Sam Baker from USC. He's having outstanding Senior Bowl (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/features/seniorbowl/index.html) practices:Thursday North practice USC offensive tackle Sam Baker has nice feet and balance. Today in 1-on-1's he was real calm and in control and basically made it look easy. Also, this dude's on crack if he thinks Jeff Otah is a better left tackle prospect then Sam Baker.

GBN Guy is saying just the opposite. He's saying the USC guys are not distinguishing themselves. Particularly Baker.

In Smith (and his scouts...and Kubiak) I trust!!

i love the mocks where they talk themselves 100% into why Chris Long will be the #1 pick but then just put Dorsey in there instead.

also Banks said this is a weak class at CB.
