Anybody hear any news about this. Local radio station said that he might have season ending surgery because we were out of the playoffs. Anybody know? I hope it's false, but I'm just reporting on what I heard on the radio here.

Ryans injured his right knee against Tampa Bay when he tore his posterior cruciate ligament.

He missed practice last week but started against Denver.

Dayne sprained his ankle three weeks ago and was unable to practice all of last week. He didn't start in the 31-13 victory over the Broncos, but ended up playing a critical role in the Dec. 13 game at Reliant Stadium.

Neither Ryans nor Dayne anticipates being sidelined for the next two games.

"I can't see that," said Ryans, who also has a sprained ankle. "This is what I enjoy doing.

"You'd have to cut my legs off to pull me off the field. I've been so blessed. I can't sit out a game. I enjoy it too much. I've never missed a game (at any level) because of injury. I'll be fine this week.

"I haven't been able to move like I want. But, being the quarterback of the defense, I can't let it slow me down. I've got to be out there."

Now that's a trooper. That's who I want running our defense on the field. No injury is going to keep him sidelined.

I believe this is the same injury Adrian Peterson of the Vikings had earlier in the season. He did pretty good last Monday night and recovered quickly.

If it is similar to AP's injury, the ligament can repair it's self.

It appears you guys are getting too riled up over this.

Just relax...

If it's true it sucks, but sit him the last 2 games. It's not worth the risk of further damage.

I thought you don't get surgery on PCLs? That you just have to wait for them to heal?

Posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) surgery is the domain of the specialist knee surgeon because the surgical approach to the damaged ligament is dangerously close to blood vessels and nerves and the techniques are demanding.

If a PCL has torn itself from the bone, it can be re-attached if diagnosed early enough. A tear through the middle of the ligament can also often be repaired if found early enough, as the blood supply in this region is good.

Many PCL tears, however, are only diagnosed late, for a number of reasons, and then it is necessary to do a ligament replacement procedure. Like the ACL the procedure most frequently done in good units these days is a hamstrings graft using hamstrings tendons taken from the patient on the same side as the injury ('autograft').

Apparently the procedure is similar to the procedure used for the ACL.

BTW, anybody heard everything Kubiak said yesterday on 610?

I caught the part where he said Mckinney still want to play a lot of football.
He also said that this was the first time that he's most positive about Spencer since the injury. He think both will probably be in OTA next year.
He also mentioned that if Spencer lose some mobility, he can be moved to guard.

Anybody has the scoop?

I missed that but I expect Spencer to replace Weary at RG and LT to either (a) be addressed in FA, (b) be addressed in the draft, or (c) Butler to step up and win the job. Lot to happen between now and then but I think moves should be minimal to maintain chemistry.

Reggie Bust's injury is similar to this one. But he's crying on a sideline somewhere instead of playing.

Congratulations, DeMeco. You're a beast.

Spencer could move in and play LG and Chester Pitts, who is arguably the best LT this team has ever put on the field could move back out to what is clearly his natural position at LT.

Until we land that franchise LT we all keep thinking will show up one day.

I haven't heard him mention it on "The Demeco Ryans Show" . Its on 790 right now . Unless I missed it . Demeco is the man if he is playing with that injury !
