To further our remote playoff chances, a titan loss would be a step in the right direction.

I don't think Denver can do much to stop their rush, but maybe Cutler can light up their secondary.

Go Broncos!

This is what I need to happen tonight for fantasy value. Titans score 14 or 7 points...their kicker can't get more than 2 points and their defense needs to forget last week and be dominant again by having 3-4 sacks, some turnovers and give up a minimal amount of mounts. Say a 14-10 win with good defense.

Yeah, it really gets bad when you have a player that you need to do well but in another league the guy your playing has him. It drives me nuts. Funny story...my brother has his third child last night. I call him in Austin about 6 pm and ask him how his team is doing in fantasy. He says, "Friggin Cowboys D just screwed me on that one TD they gave up, now I'm down by 2.....I have to go, (sister-in-laws name) is in alot of pain and we are about to go to the hospital. We are waiting on the neighbors."..LOL..always on the game.

punt return for TD, already starting to become a blowout. That T-N-T game is going to be very important in 2 weeks, hope Fat Albert will still be out by then. The Titans are nothing without him.

I think VY's leg is hurt after that TD that the Broncos screwed up on by calling the timeout, allowing it to be reviewed.

Since that play, VY did some leg limping and wasn't walking right and hasn't run since.

The type of injury that VY had with the quad strain can be something that can become chronic. If he weren't a football player, he would still be resting his injury.

See e.g. info at the end of this article (http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/10/18/do-you-think-vince-young-will-play-against-the-texans/#cont):

Also the less time the injury has to heal, the more likely that re-injury could occur, or perhaps a worse injury. Even a basic look-see on the internet has tons of stories of these sorts of quad injuries gone bad. Like this one:

Resting may be the common sense approach, but it is one that is often ignored by competitive athletes. This is unwise, since it does not take much to turn a grade one Thigh strain into a grade two, or a grade two Thigh strain into a grade three.

Why? Because athletes feel like they can function with this sort of quad strain unless they try to do something like kicking or sprinting.

An all out sprint like that TD could have made it flare back up.

Look at who just scored for Denver and tell me with a straight face that we need to use our first round pick on a running back.

I didn't say the guy was perfect. He has overall played a good game tonight. Just an outside observation without being a homer or a hater.

Silver Oak

You're right, he did play good tonight. Problem is, this is the exception rather than the norm.

Cutler looked better...and ESPN MNF crew talked about him maybe 10% of the time versus all of the goo they spewed on vy.

"all he does is win"...except last night. :doot:

now supporters will say look at his stats, throw some numbers at us, and tell us he played great...except these are the same folks who usually say W's and L's are the only thing that matters.

I think the Texans can beat the Broncos in a few weeks. If vy can pass successfully, then Schaub can do some damage there as well.

He actually did play a pretty good game (save two critical interceptions), but the tinbreads defense let them down..

So who was really "winning all those games?" Seems pretty obvious now, their defense WERE the ones winning those games during VY's crappy stretch going back to September...

I'm still a believer that he can be a top QB. He had a good rookie season, as rookie seasons go. This year he has zero talent at receiver and they have had him manage games and he hasn't had a great season. He was given the chance to throw last night and looked pretty good. Their defense has carried them but is now injured. Overall I think, despite the rough season, that the guy showed he could play ball. Again, i'm kind of just outside observing here.:shades:

3 critical drops (2 of them inside the 10) really hurt the Titans in this game.

Young stepped up, but he honestly had no help on offense.

Without Haynesworth, this team is doomed.

True......but when he(VY) had the the chance to get his team back in it late, he showed his true colors. That last int. was a horrible mental mistake.

Texans_Chick
11-20-2007, 11:28 AM
I wonder how bad Young hurt himself with the TD run and then the scramble right after that which didn't count because of the timeout.

After that, he didn't run much. When they ran the spread after that, he handed off mostly.

The Titans offense works better when he runs enough to keep teams honest.

I am guessing we won't get straight info on that.

Hopefully he continues to aggravate it over the next couple of weeks so he's ready for us. Mario needs to step up in this game like he did against the Saints!
