View Full Version : Chronic: Von Hutchins moves to cornerback for Texans

Texans free safety Von Hutchins has returned to cornerback, his natural position, and will start opposite Fred Bennett against the visiting New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

"I'm excited,'' Hutchins said. "I'm comfortable everywhere in the secondary. I'm ready to make plays.''

When Glenn Earl and Jason Simmons were lost for the season in training camp, Hutchins moved to safety, where he's started opposite C.C. Brown. Will Demps replaces Hutchins.

Will Demps replaces Hutchins.
We kill two birds with one stone here. Hutchins has looked really good at times, but seemed out of place at FS. Demps has had his moments as well, now we get to see more of him.

BTW, I'll take our injured, depleted secondary over NO's any day.

I would take Hutchins and Bennett as CBs than having that crappy Faggins anywhere on defense.

Kubiak and co. clearly don't have faith in Petey. But Hutchins and Demps played well against Oak so it makes sense to keep them in the same scheme.

I'm going to second that. I'm sure Hutchins will do a better job than Faggins. I can't watch another big play given up by him.

Maybe Hutchins will step up at corner much the same way Andre Davis did at WR after AJ went down ?

I believe this is Von's natural spot so it should be a good move. It may not look as such against the saints considering they run a spread offense but sadly, Faggins will still be on the field as the nickel back.

Considering all that is happened...this is without a doubt our best possible move at this point. We don't have Dunta but we don't have to deal with Petey either. Hopefully its enough to get us through.

If De'Von could do a Andre Davis for next 7 games that would be outstanding.
