More wildfires spotted, this time in Qualcomm...

And the source of this fire seems to be from a dead, dried-up defense.

You know, in all honesty...this was the biggest easiest win a team will ever get: Facing the Texans, at home, with a team like the Chargers who are stacked at virtually every position, and coming off a bye week and the whole emotional situation of the wildfires.

It's nice to know that the Texans always seem to come along and help everybody else out just when they needed it.

We're definitely America's Team...

Maddict5

we're terrible.. the texans talked about how its hard to stop both gates and LT yet we're letting them run amok.. this is going to be a demoralising day

we have looked like the 2005 team lately

DexmanC
10-28-2007, 03:54 PM
Well. You stop LT, then Antonio will burn you on the edge. And vice-versa. We don't have the defensive backfield to stop both weapons. Watch Etchi, it's gonna be a long day.

No Jacoby Jones, either.

Saddest statement ever....

not really would have liked to see a closer game, of course we should have not had that bad snap but w/e

He's been on the practice all year - I guess they didn't think they needed him until now.

Thats wrong! He was signed to our practice squad on 10/10! He spent the year in Raiders camp and was cut due to the number of backs they had!

No pass rush, bad coverage. No pass rush, bad coverage. No pass rush, bad coverage.

6 years of football, 2 regimes, same 2 problems on defense. What gives?

The guy in your avatar(well his shirt) says it all: DAMN

disaacks3

Cover Gates! Damn! Sending 4 on the Rush isn't going to get it done, but our D-Coordinator seems to think it will.

Exactly.

This is why I was anti-Ahman when we signed him.

Looked good on paper, but I knew he'd be a sideline reporter for most, if not ALL, of his stint here with us.

Knee, asthma, etc....the list is endless.

Joe New Guy is alright. At least that's something to cheer.

Honestly, how long does this franchise expect people to stick with them?

According to McNair's master plan: (1) Put out a classy group of staff members and coaches/players who have good public images, then (2) Make a nice environment (Reliant) to watch the game, then (3) Use a marketing mix of slick advertising and wise business decisions....and BAM! you have Texans fans who really believe that the owner wants to put out a great team.

We got a step closer with Kubiak, but we're still a mile away, IMO.

Until I see McNair pledge all the money he can muster for a real team--coaches, players, etc.--then I won't truly believe this team is going to do anything of real value on the field.

This is absolutely rediculous. This team was not well prepared at all. Barely prepared as far as I am concerned. How does Antonio Gates get wide open twice in the first quarter. Not only are we outmatched skill wise....but our coaching is HORRIBLE right now.

dunta robinson should get out of here as quickly as he can. we are the defensive version of the Detriot Lions in the draft.

Can we draft defensive coordinators in the draft?

If ever we've seen a case where a defensive coordinator needed to have been given a one-way ticket to a game (from Houston, to San Diego)...this is it.

Richard Smith's idea of mixing it up? Run a stunt.

Wow. 35-3. What happened to this team? So much promise in the first three games (even though we lost the in the Indy game, it wasn't that bad).

I think that's the problem. People remember almost beating Indy without looking at almost losing to Miami except for a 57 yard FG. Same with last year. The team looked lousy in many, many games - but the Indy victory at the end of the year is used to set the level of where the team is at. It wasn't the level - it was an outlying data point.

It was stupid to play Matt Schaub this week anyway. He was considered "very beat up" going into this game. Then we play him and he throws 2 INTs and we take him out? What kind of dumb shit is that? Why even play him if you planned on taking him out if he didn't play well. What the hell kind of decision is that. Kubiak is starting to look kind of bad to me in his personell(sp?) decisions.

I'm giving it one more series. It hasn't been any fun to watch a game in weeks and it is a beautiful day outside. I am not even sure why I watch any more...

Thought it was kind of funny that as I wrote this I was away from the TV and came back to see that we had thrown an interception.

I stuck it out last week, but I am thinkng that I would rather have my wife just kick me in the balls right now than watch the rest of this game. At the end of the day I will feel the same, but will save two hours of my afternoon doing something else.

I don't know where this franchise goes from here. I have followed this team since day one and I am running out of reasons to care and can't seem to draw on any good memories from watching. The off-seasons are kind of fun and are full of hope, but following the team during the season is just painful.

I hope this team can regroup, but there is nothing about the history of this franchise that makes me think anything positive will happen. As I look at the QB who we gave up two second round picks get knocked out/ pulled for the third week in a row, it just makes me cringe to think that every talking head is saying "I told you so." Of course, the Titans won today and the QB that we kept (and signed to a three year extension) instead of picking up a homeotwn legend is back up to a 55 year old QB who has been back in the league 3 weeks after sitting on his old ass for over a year.

I will say that this team is better than we have been in the past and we have some missing peices to the puzzle. I don't know whether that makes me want to laugh or cry...but it seems like the perfect ending to this rant.

Heres to to keeping things in perspective...it is just a game. Take care.

You say that jokingly now but he probably will be gone soon. Seriously.

I said it earlier in this thread, and I most certainly meant it.

A good player like him deserves more than what McNair is putting around him.

This brings me back to my January 2007 statements of why McNair is not nearly the bestest owner in the NFL.

IMO, he's a business man who lines his pockets. We're the Clippers of the NFL. It's all about the dough.

The Colts were like $400,000 over the cap or something. Those guys spend everything and more to get what they need. Us? We make smoke-and-mirror moves that LOOK good to the fan...but it's all about the bottom line.

I seriously lost a piece of myself today. It's a day where I came a step closer to just giving up on this team. I have to see something from Bob. I have to see an owner who will sign his life away to get a ring.

We've sold ourselves out, coming back to this piece of junk every Sunday, and often with better attitudes than most other city's fans have for THEIR teams.

Bob, put it ALL out on the line. Show us you're not just trotting out a show pony of an NFL team.

You're a cornerback who makes a career of watching guys score touchdowns on your miserable coverage? Why don't you hang out with the ex special teams center in the unemployment line. You're fired too. Bye.

Maybe it's ME. But if I were on a defensive unit and you had a 25 point lead on MY team in the fist quarter and a member of YOUR team took a cheap shot on MY quarterback and took him out of the game. I shall make it my MISSION to collect as many yellow hankies and fines as possible in the remainder of that football game. My QB isn't part of the play and you took him out? I'm making it my mission to either kill or hospitalize someone before the end of that game. I would pay hefty fines with pride and wouldn't be happy unless I left that game either covered in the blood of one of their running backs or receivers, or listening to a member of the opposing teams offense whimpering in pain as they were carted off on stretchers.

More than Kubiak, at least visually. Kubiak always has poor body language and doesn't look all that confident as he looks at his feet at the podium game after game. At least Belicheck and Dungy appear confident when they talk. This is one of the softest teams I've ever seen. This goes to how they pick their players and how they go about deciding what kind of personalities a football team should be made of.

Marcus, the difference is that we SUCK. Belichick and Dungy are great coaches but they took over GOOD TEAMS. We are a bunch of LOSERS. You need someone here to SHAKE THINGS UP. Glanville turned around possible an even worse team in the Oilers and rebuilt first pride, defense, and gave our fans hope. That is what we need. Houston NFL history is not great but if you look at history we have had NONCONVENTIONAL guys like Bum and Glanville to get us good. You think Pardee could have turned our team around. He was able to take a good team and just stay the course. We need a guy like Coughlin here. I hope he leaves the Giants so we can grab him.

Are you kidding me, Coughlin? What a horrible choice. God I hope he doesn't become our coach. I'd borderline quit watching.

Kubiak is in over his head. He was comfortable being a coordinator and a guy not in the spotlight. I guess that comes from being a career backup to Elway.

Our gameplans have been atrocious. At this point, he is on par with Capers. I hate how badly this team is screwed up. Its so depressing.

NAH , I'M NOT BLAMING KUBIAK..WE ARE STILL DIGGING OUT FROM THE FIRST FOUR YEARS. HOPEFULLY AFTER THIS SEASON IS OVER WE WELL HAVE MONEY TO SPEND.

Kubes isn't going anywhere. Him and Rick Smith are on year freaking 2 and we actually looked good somehow at the beginning of the year.

I wouldn't mind Bill Cowher but I don't see McNair replacing a HC so soon.

I'm sorry but he has not prepared us well at all for many games this season.

Coughlin is a no-nonsense guy who is committed to discipline on and off the field. He started the Jax program from scratch and had them be in the playoffs for several years. He has had the Giants in the playoffs 2 out of 3 years despite them being HORRIBLE the year before he came aboard.

McNair is a HUGE part of the problem. I am tired of him placing more importance on whether a guy is clean cut, a Christian (why the hell does this matter), etc. I want a team that WINS. If it takes GLANVILLE TACTICS I am for it. Hell splice in porn like Jenkins did, I don't care. I am tired of seeing a pathetic team. I WANT TO WIN AT ALL COSTS. Get me some roided coked up thugs for all I care.

Yeah, let's pass on 3 franchise QB's because we already have David Carr.

NFL teams routinely go from worst to first now with a coaching change. Let's roll the dice and maybe we will get lucky once and for all. This team needs to stay in San Diego. I would rather have LOCAL guys from a BEER LEAGUE representing our town if they played with passion.

And choose Mario Williams...a run stopping DE to pair up with the other run stopping DE that we have. That should get at the QB.

Vince Young sure looked a franchise QB this week.

If you want to complain, complain that we didn't select AJ Hawk.

If not for Kris Brown we would be 0-6 since winning the first 2 games. I don't care who you are, your ass should be feeling fire if you go on a streak like that.

I want McKinney, Salaam, Pitts, and Dayne cut. Rick Smith must be ORDERED to fix this pathetic line and if he won't FIRE HIM and get someone who will. Then simultaneously work on getting some secondary guys without their heads buried in their ass. That's a start. EVERYONE ON THIS TEAM SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.

Cut Ahman right now. Another bust of a pick up. Echemandu a guy from the STREET looks better than him and actually plays. Guys need to get CUT this week to send a message. Richard Smith should get the axe as well. I would fire Kubiak in the offseason as well of course.
