I know the qb in Nashville got a drive killing penalty for taunting, but did I see RB get a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct as well? Watching highlights, I thought I saw him get up and push someone after the play.

I believe we are third in the division thank you very much....

And I enjoy reading this board and the posters who come here but this thread is almost pathetic. It adds to the other AFC South's teams beliefs that you guys are simply screaming for acceptance both as a legit contender and in defense of the Mario Williams pick.

And yes, I am upset we are behind the Texans in the standings.

Correct. That also puts the Tack/Flaming Meatballs at 1-1 in the division.
Did VY have a meltdown? Sure did sound like he was frustrated during the post game news conference.:user: Not to mention another boneheaded penalty he committed.

Maybe wait till after 2 games to start bragging? Not going to devalue what you've done but maybe wait till after week 4 or 5 before we start talking about divisional leaders. Just see if you can do better against the Colts then we did and don't worry about if we win or lose.

Absolutely.... It hurts, it hurts bad, but let's remember the Texans #2 receiver is still better than anything the Tinnbreads throw out there as a #1... Someone else is going to have to step it up... Besides, this week will be about ball control, not necessarily big plays and this offense is about a scheme, not one person...

Sadly I'm going to have to side with a Titans fan! LOL

We've had 2 really good victories and there is nothing wrong with being excited about that. The titans beat JAX and barely lost to IND. Now of course an L is an L

The way I see it guys...let's be a little graceful about all this. If the colts come out and beat us, we're 2-1. If the Titans beat the saints (who aren't too good) they are 2-1.

If we're going to be bragging on a week by week basis, I think we'd be behind the titans after next week...although our victories will probably be better : )

just my 2 cents

To all the Titans fans on here...you're exactly right. We finally have a good team and are extatic about it. We have such high hopes for this year. I don't know what else to say but we as fans don't know what to do but just scream out "blaualhadlleioaenld" in excitement!!

As Arrow stated they are struggling to recover from a bad attack. The site was down for something like 6 weeks & although it's been back since June they still have less than 200 members.

There are some great fans over there such as Smitty,Alphonse,Blue Stampede,Sappercis,Lyman,Daedge & Shack etc. The core fans came back from day one but their recovery is slow.

It's a very relaxed board & a great place to be when you get to know the locals. I wouldn't be surprised to see you guys stick around after this weeks game. Not too much homerism there just fans having a good time.

Fair . but in all honesty to call a team that is 1-1 less then a team that started 0-5 last season could be pointed out in an argument against a fundamental understanding of the game.

You add that we have played 2 divisional games putting up 282 yards, a franchise record in 'rushing yards against' on a team that is known for its run D and a held a prolific scoring team to 22 points with a defense that ranked 32 in the league last season.

Again one might question how much you comprehend the sport. Do not look at this as an attack but an answer to the question without elaborating.

Whoa...Talk about comprehension and fundamental understanding...

I don't think you have provided any sound evidence that your team is better this year.

The Colts blew out the Saints. The Bucs blew out the saints. Was the Colts victory really that impressive ?
I wasn't that impressed at the time, and we'll see if my sentiments hold true.

You guys ran all over the Jags. We freaking own the Jags. Because a team is "known" for something doesn't mean they will be strong in that area from year to year. The Texans are known for a poor offensive line and losing games. Or should I say were known...

We held a team (the Panthers) that was known for having a great D-line, to no sacks, and no big plays...

I'd consider that a much greater accomplishment than holding a "prolific scoring offense to 21 points"....21 points ? Is that really an accomplishment ?

How about the fact that you guys didn't make the plays when you needed to make them...When you had last years Super Bowl champs on their heels ? That'd worry me a little bit...shows a lack of the ability to take advantage of opprotunities and go for the jugular...

And you guys were 0-5 with Collins...Not VY...

You guys went 2-0 the first two games VY started last year, so in actuality you guys have done worse.

I had a feeling thats who you were talking about, but wasn't sure given how he's playing this season... He's got one less TD than "his highness" has and a better attitude. He also has more TD's than the NFL's poster boy RB. Not to mention a couple of sacks....

So, if he's doing all that with 4 toes, I don't want him to have 5....

Seems pretty silly to compare against the Titans at the beginning of the season rather than as the entered the offseason or by the season as a whole. Heck by that standard the Texans have improved leaps and bounds over the first 5 games last year.

Using your method that still shows regression...

Yes holding the defending Super Bowl champions to 2 of 3 of there lowest scoring outputs last season and 3 of 6 in the last two season is really sign of slipping.

I had a feeling thats who you were talking about, but wasn't sure given how he's playing this season... He's got one less TD than "his highness" has and a better attitude. He also has more TD's than the NFL's poster boy RB. Not to mention a couple of sacks....

So, if he's doing all that with 4 toes, I don't want him to have 5....How long do you plan on trying to use that "Mario scored on someone else's forced fumble so he's the greatest thing since sliced bread"

He was lucky to get it, and running it in uncontested isn't saying a whole lot. He's a lineman, why are you even attempting to throw up scoring stats for a DE? Just plain silly, but hey :fans:

If he gets one or two more scores this year it'll be a pretty good accomplishment, but lineman usually only score once in a great while. Running backs, and QB's will always score more TD's than DE, but then I'm sure you'll say "He's got more sacks than RB and VY" :doot:

Mario is on pace for about 50 tackles and 8 sacks...wohoooooo (and that average will fall after Sunday). Nice though to see how the Titans have more sacks against Hags and Colts than you do against the Chefs and Hags. I'd say the Chef's line is a weeeee bit worse than the Colts line, to put it lightly.

What I was really trying to get at is an offseason should be judged by the state of the franchise at the end of the last season v. the next season. By that standard, the Titans lost a lot--maybe they have adequate or better replacements (probably not for Pacman)--time will tell. Doesn't look like it on paper.

Bulluck53

Anyone can pull one favorable stat out. Look, virtually every pundit and tons of folks on the Titans' MB were gnashing their teeth at the Titans not doing anything more with their cap room in the offseason. On paper, a team that loses a probowl corner (who is also a phenomenal return weapon) and replace with a non-probowl corner Indy has been trying to replace for years and loses its top RB and top two WR's without any corresponding gains looks weaker. May not turn out to be the fact if LenDale and some of the WR's step up. We'll see.

Here comes the "double team" comeback, like he's the only one in the NFL.

We've already determined that math isn't your best subject as you can't determine an average, but you don't have to worry about the double team comeback because against KC one of his sacks came against a triple team. To help you out a bit triple team would mean three offensive linemen (in this particular case the C, RG, & RT).

I am saying that the Titans now have played 2 division rivals and come away 1-1 and the loss came to the defending Super Bowl champions who we held to thier 6 lowest scoring output in the last two season (We also have 2 of the other six in the last two years if you want to count straws).

Very little was mentioned about the Saints here. I had to ask why they got caught up into a mess involving the Titans vs Texans. I know the Saints will be at Reliant in November, but it's a bit early to call this just yet.

Maybe Monday's Night game is still stirring the pot? I dunno.

Anyway, since it's unlikely the Texans will face the Saints at a Super Bowl, perhaps we should be friends...unless it all does collapse toward a Super Bowl domination.

Don't make me post those PM's you've sent me. I saved the screen shots to
cover my butt.

LMAO!!!

Just heard that he's on his feet and could be released from the hospital, if not today, tomorrow...

Any word of JJ's injury? I read earlier it was a separated shoulder to be evaluated today or this week. Sucked I had him playing in my fantasy league and was actually cheering for the Texans on that return.

Just listening to the Doc's press conference now.

Very similar to Everett's injury except that the fracture to the C4 vertebre wasn't displaced. It sounds very positive for Killings quality of life right now.

Will be some time before they know if he can play again. Some very interesting medical info in the press conference.

How many MNF games do the Texans gets this season?

Oh, so this is how we rate teams now??... MNF appearances??. Well, with that logic you are keeping good company in those pesky little Falcons....

You know me better then to make fun of injuries. I recall the times when McNair would go down and we would have to sit 3 or 4 more weeks for our bye. Like I said it was not smack just stating the obvious that a bye right now would not be so undesirable as Shadow makes our upcoming bye sound.

explains allot of your RB comments. Sportcenter is not the end all for football knowledge ...

I know that about you... No worries. But seriously, it has seemed like for the last 5 years our bye week has been pretty early, so I would rather see it later this year - if for no other reason.....

By the way, you should know by now how I feel about BSPN and SportsCenter. Part of my hate comes from them wearing BOTH Vy and Bush's jockstraps as eye patches... In fact, it seems YOU have been watching SprtsCenter too much - given your un-natural feelings towards VY (not there is anything wrong with that).

In order to be a fan, you must spell the name of the team you purportedly support properly.

At this point I give flaming meatballs as much credit in beating the Aints as they gave us for beating the Chefs.

The losers on titansonline.com see the titians winning their next 7 in a row. Also one guy accuses the Texans of taking cheap shots at vy?!?!

5 Oct 07 ATL @ TEN
6 Oct 14 TEN @ TB
7 Oct 21 TEN @ HOU
8 Oct 28 OAK @ TEN
9 Nov 04 CAR @ TEN
10 Nov 11 JAC @ TEN
11 Nov 19 TEN @ DEN

Atlanta isn't playing well right now, Tampa could be tough, I'm sure no one on this forum gives the Titans any chance on the 21st for obvious bias reasons, Oakland is bad, Carolina is wishy washy depends on who shows up, Jags we've beaten, and Denver lost to the Jags.

Not saying it will happen, but all fans are optimistic about their team (unless you're a Saints or Chargers fan). I can't see one game on there that I'd give an automatic L.

By the same way of thinking it's also feasible that the Texans could win through most of their games until December.

The toughest games ahead for AFC South teams are divisional.

I have to agree. We have favorable schedules except within our division...
