I heard they were both game time decisions for Sunday. That could really mess up our run defense if our two starting tackles are bangedu p

Read about the injuries to our defensive line and it's worrisome to say the least. Specially with TJ and N.D.Kalu. We need those 2 guys out there on Sunday. Hopefully they'll be ready to go come game time but it's not good news.

Okoye seems to be more precautionary, while TJ seems like he could miss out.

I don't think he does....900+ posts since Aug makes me wonder...I have really put some effort in to my little less than 800 posts..LOL..

After reading the article I think Okoye will make it back no problem, and with TJ's ankle you never know, hopefully it's still just sore and he can go on Sunday.

And if we aren't a little uneasy enough on defense it seems we are playing "musical safety". I hope Boulware brings the lumber.

The DL is the one area we can actually afford an injury. We'll be okay. Now if it was another safety we'd be screwed.

Man we are going to need these guys. I love Kalu, but we need those guys to be in rotation and stay fresh.

I expect Kalu will play with a cast over his hand.

Kalu is a beast. He would play with a broken arm if they would let him.

People are hard on him because he -

1) Doesn't have a good understanding of the English language

2) Doesn't read his posts before he posts them

Rookie mistakes.

Texans | Okoye practices, will be a game-time decision
Fri, 14 Sep 2007 15:45:48 -0700

Megan Manfull, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans DT Amobi Okoye (toe) participated in practice Friday, Sept. 14. Okoye will be a game-time decision for Week 2.

Some concerns at DT
Although defensive tackles Amobi Okoye (toe) and Travis Johnson (ankle) practiced Friday, coach Gary Kubiak said no decision as to the extent of their availability against the Panthers will be made until game time Sunday. But Kubiak was optimistic, especially regarding the rookie Okoye.

"He said he felt fine," Kubiak said, "so I expect he'll be ready to go."

For insurance purposes — and because Kubiak is disinclined to move end Anthony Weaver inside so early in the season — the Texans have re-signed Cedric Killings, whom Kubiak called "one of the toughest players I've ever had to cut. He made the team during (training camp), but we just ran out of room."

To make a spot for Killings, the Texans released tight end Joel Dreessen.

Demps, Boulware to play
Although safety Will Demps was just brought in this week when Jason Simmons was lost for the season with a knee injury, he will see some action against the Panthers, as will the other newcomer in the secondary, Michael Boulware.

"Michael is probably a little ahead, naturally from being here a little longer," coach Gary Kubiak said, "but they're both ready. We approached our defensive scheme this week and our game plan knowing that those guys had to be ready to play."

Von Hutchins, who effectively stepped in for Simmons against the Chiefs, will start at strong safety.
