First Take Bold Predictions by Matthew Berry:

#3 - Ahman Green will have 1500+ total yards and 8+ TD's.

#6 - Jason Campbell, Matt Schaub, Jeff Garcia and David Garrard will all be better than Vince Young

#7 - Jacoby Jones will be the best rookie WR (better fantasy year than Calvin Johnson)

Of course, these are fantasy projections. But...

#3 is pretty bold, #6 not so much, I think it is pretty fair to say most of them (maybe not campbell) will have better stat lines than VY, Completion %, TD-INT Ratio, Rating.

Actually, I think #6 is the one that a lot of people will ignorantly laugh at, though.

Not that bold--Green had 1432 total yards last year and 6 TD's.

But you realize those last 68 yards are the most elusive.

Yeah, but, see, they TALKED about the Texans in 3 points and they weren't negative.

Just remember these are all fantasy ratings , as far as that goes Green is rated about the same as Cedric Benson. Actually I'm in the NFL.com fantasy league and most of the Texans top picks are all rated around 16th even our defense/st. Although thats not great, that's not terrible either.

With the exception of the Jones>Johnson tidbit, I see nothing bold about those predictions.

Is there a link???

Not that I know of. It was on TV on the First Take (used to be Cold Pizza) show.

Hey since we are talking about getting some love....

NFL networks Jamie Dukes was giving Schaub and the Texans some props today on both Total Access and Put up your Dukes. I liked this guy to begin with, now he has me at hello.....:jk:

step right up folks, step right up, get your bandwagon seats while there cheap, these prices won't last long.

It's too bad that we've already decided/proven/promulgated everything ESPN writes is a crock; otherwise this would be a cool article. :)

What is the football world coming to? Even the Sporting News picked us to beat the Chefs

The Sporting News talking heads were, in order:
- Chris Bahr -- 24-23 (this sounds like a pick 'em to me)
- Brian Baldinger -- 27-20http://i.tsn.com/i/p/s.gif
- Greg Cosell -- 23-10http://i.tsn.com/i/p/s.gif
- Dennis Dillon -- 16-14http://i.tsn.com/i/p/s.gif (lone dissenter who went with KC)
- Vinnie Iyer -- 20-17
- Carl Moritz -- 23-17
- Mike Nahrstedt -- 17-13http://i.tsn.com/i/p/s.gif
- Arnie Spanier -- 31-20 (wow! picked to put up 30!)
- TSN War Room Scouts -- 27-23

The Bottom Line
Optimism takes off in Houston this weekend. Huard, Larry Johnson (http://javascript:op(6363)) and the Chiefs will start off sloppy, fall behind early and come up short on the road. Schaub should play well enough to give Texans fans something to cheer about -- if he doesn't turn the ball over. Pick: Texans 27, Chiefs 23
