View Full Version : Kudos to our receiving corps

Schaub showed nice poise. Getting rid of the ball as quickly as he did soon discouraged the let 'er rip Dallas blitzing plan.

But our receivers across the board were as responsible for Schaub's apparent success. There were several passes thrown behind them that were acrobatically caught by AJ and Daniels. Those plays and one that threaded the needle in a crossing pattern with Daniels that got him sandwiched between 2 defenders, could have got them "killed."

With JJ, the Texans now have a legitimate 3rd receiver. Watching the game on DVR, it's so nice to see a QB that doesn't panic and can make plays. There is no way the guy we had last year would have made that play where JJ caught that TD pass. As the protection broke down, Schaub bought himself more time by rolling right and eyeing downfield still looking to make a play. The other guy would have just been looking to run out of bounds.

Honestly, the receivers looked great because of the QB who was able to throw the ball to them. I can't describe how happy I am with Schaub at the helm. He is able to find his receivers and doesn't key in on one receiver. He doesn't make the dump-off passes and he can even play from the shotgun apparently as I saw that used tonight. He can actually FEEL the rush versus another QB who couldn't and who would've been sacked and FUMBLED the ball.

The receivers deserve their props but ultimately, Matt deserves the credit for being a NFL QB.

I just can't describe how excited I am to be a Texans fan. The haters will definitely be answered this season. We will at least be a .500 team with the team we have now, and we definitely deserve it.
