just curious, why do you have to take points off? he has put more pressure on the QB than the whole first team D-line. why not just say he's doing better?

I'm not unhappy
Many more points on than points off
but there's always something to work on

And Turk!

Total oversight on my part. Though I do still get the shakes when Kris Brown comes out.

I know we're young and have holes, but I'm VERY excited. One can easily see things coming together all over the field.

our D actaully has time to rest! its amazing!

Bethel Johnson end around for a 17 yard gain.

I doubt this staff's ability to identify talent in the first round. I'm ok with Mario, but Okoye was clearly not the most talented player available nor the most pressing need in terms of position. However, 2nd round on, our staff can't be beat.

hey flip flopper, (after a quick search)

Okoye proved to be a one gap DT while Branch proved to be a 2 gap DT.

My comparisons:

Okoye - Tommie Harris or Warren SappBranch - John Henderson minus the Insane drive, mean streak, and half the talent

Not really fond of any of those guys at 8, but I would take Okoye probally because I feel he is the next Sapp.

But just look at how good this kind of result could be in the long run. YEARS of getting a top 5 pick in the SECOND ROUND. We could end up being the Patriots MAGNIFIED!

No doubt. Here's hoping we never pick first overall again.

Zabransky's first completion to Mathis for a first down.

TexanSam

Zabransky's only thrown one pass but I already think he's better than Van Pelt.

Rex King

Sweet catch by Mathis, even though he let it get into his body.

ObsiWan
08-18-2007, 06:32 PM
Oh man, why is Mathis playing with the 3rd stringers? Good catch though

mexican_texan
08-18-2007, 06:32 PM
And what player and or position would you have preferred over Okoye?
Doesn't matter, he's here now. Patrick Willis.

Nice run by Samkon there.

mancunian
08-18-2007, 06:33 PM
Mathis has shown more than Davis and he is top 5 KR, how do you put davis ahead?

Davis has more experience, Mathis has never proved himself as a WR. Though David hasn't set the world alight since he left the Browns.

Dont get me wrong I'd want to keep Mathis - I just have this feeling he's on borrowed time.

And as I typed this 19 yard gain by Mathis...

TexanSam
08-18-2007, 06:33 PM
Gado has looked good so far. I think he has the lead in the 3rd RB battle.

How do you think Willis would have fit in with our LBs? Move Demeco to the outside or move Willis to the outside?

33 points. That has to be a record.

TexanSam
08-18-2007, 06:35 PM
We've attempted so many field goals this presason, Kubiak should run a fake FG play just to give Brown a change of pace.

I don't think Kubiak is going to release a healthy all-pro kick returner.

I think Willis can play OLB rather effectively. Willis and Ryans would make a killer 3-4 combo.

hey flip flopper, (after a quick search)

i don't believe that was close to the draft. I remember being an Okoye fan for a while, but in the week or two leading up to the draft, I was strictly in favor of trading down like usual, and then to Revis. I actually prefered Brandon Mebane as for DT's, and had a strong dislike for Branch.

Wonder what the talking heads will say after this game?

Every year they say is the year they are going to step up...it just never happens.

As a Texan fan I can feel for Lions, Cards, Saints fans. Its like if we are not playing the Cards I don't mind when they win because I know how it feels year in and year out to have a team no one cares about but the loyal fanbase and the only time you hear about these teams is when the draft pops up.
