JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jaguars center Brad Meester broke a bone in his right foot and will be sidelined at least eight weeks, the team's first significant injury this season.

Meester was scheduled to have surgery Wednesday.

Meester, who has started 108 games for Jacksonville in seven years, injured his foot during the team's first full-pads practice Monday night. The Jags initially thought it was just a sprain, but tests later determined a more severe injury.

"It's tough for Brad because he loves to play the game and loves to play with us," guard Vince Manuwai said Tuesday. "But the good part is it's only eight weeks and he could be back during the season. It's not a total loss. It's just a loss for now."

It's a center, so it's just the "Okoye Sack Show with Gary Kubiak"

Yeah right, because the Jags don't have anyone to replace him other than Norman who was pushing Meester for the starting spot anyway.

Still, injuries suck, but if it were going to happen at least it is early, and we do have a very good replacement.

The beginning of the season is the only point where the Jags play with any heart. This could be a really bad season for them especially if Sandmich sees allot of heat.

MMM .... grilled sandmich.
