Raiders released safety Darnell Bing.
The Raiders tried to convert Bing to linebacker, but it didn't work. Its a strong statement about Bing's ability that his former USC coach Lane Kiffin would cut him. Bing, the 101st pick last season, is the highest 2006 draftee cut to date.

he also spent the whole of last season on IR, and this year they were looking to move him back to safety.

i think its a strong statement about his inability to stay healthy. plus they already have a "pretty good" secondary.

While I didn't call the inury thing, I did call that he wouldn't ever make a good SS, and wasn't good enough to be an NFL LB. Just thought I would re-visit that.

I seem to recall alot of screaming on the second day of that draft that the Texans should take him...but then again that always seems to be somebody screaming about the S positions on draft day.
