Sources in several conference offices, athletic directors and television networks told The Post that support is steadily growing for a "Plus-1," format in which there will be a national championship game following the playing of two "semifinal games."

The first title game could be played in 2011.

I would like a +1 system.... it would atleast void all the #3 gets the shaft worries.

Anything to eliminate the BCS.

+1 is basically where you keep the bowl schedule as it always is... with the standard 4 BCS bowls. Except you take the winner of the top 2 BCS games (the final 4 so to speak that have a chance) for that year and have an extra game on top of it all (a +1)... to determine the national champion.

Does anybody else see the winners of the other two BCS games throwing a fit because they don't get to the +1 game, or is it just me? Also say a 1 loss team beats an undeafeated to get to the +1, does he rematch against the formerly undefeated, or play another bcs winner with an equal or lesser record? Do non BCS conferance undefeated teams get to go to a +1 ala Boise State?
