And in non-Michael Vick related news:

The Seattle Seahawks released 5 year veteran CB Kelly Herndon (http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Sports/2007/06/02/seahawks_release_kelly_herndon/2330/). Herndon was with the Denver Broncos from 2002-2004, starting 27 games. Kelly suffered a broken ankle in the last regular season game of the '06 season (on this play).

Rick Smith and Gary Kubiak are obviously very familiar with Herndon. Will they give him a call and offer a job? Depends on how well Kelly's ankle has mended as well how guys like Jamar Fletcher and Dexter McCleon fare in offseason camps.

I'd take a chance on him. I'm still not sold on our secondary. I can't see him being any worse than the guys we have now.

On a related note, is Lewis Sanders still on the team?

Sanders signed with Atlanta and worked as a starting CB in mini camp (http://www.ajc.com/services/content/sports/falcons/stories/2007/05/13/0514fallearned.html).

Wow. Either he stepped up his game big time, or Atlanta's secondary is going to be pitiful.

Herndon is done. He's at the very, very best, a nickel back.

I wouldn't bother with him. If he is coming off an injury from the last game last year, he's still probably not 100%. Give the new guy's we already have a chance. They may surprise this year.:fans:
