Pretty silly story, but PFT.com has been reporting that one Pittsburgh front office member e-mailed pornography to a coach who then accidentally forwarded it essentially to every GM and a bunch of other folks. They are reporting it was Lance Zierlein's father Larry Zierlein and that Doug Whaley the Director of Personnel sent it to him.

Don't see why it should result in any punishment, but will be embarrassing.

Yeah, saw that.

Ouch.

For anyone who wishes they could take back an email, they feel for him.

That's a pretty embarrassing mistake but I don't think they should punish him in any way.

A similar email situation happened at my former employment. An employee in the London office attempted to reply to an email where they were ragging on a female supervisor. He didn't think too kindly of her and mentioned it in the email as well as offering his speculation on of how she rose to the position of leadership. Instead of hitting the reply button, he apparently hit reply all, and bang--the email was distributed company wide. IT or some department did a recall, but it was too late. Even those who were not logged in or checking, received phone call to check the email.

"congratulations, you just launched the pink slip virus...."

Sounds like someone needs a snickers candy bar.

After reading the piece, let's put it this way. If this were Company XYZ making widgets in Iowa somewhere, the guy would have about 10 minutes to pack everything in a box, and shown the door. And rightfully so. And in this case, apparently females also got the email, which was described as "hardcore", so you know it wasn't just a pair of boobs or something relatively innocous by comparison.

Having said that, I think the NFL will tread fairly lightly here. There will be some kind of punishment, and he will probably be suspended, fined and/or have pay docked, and will probably be made to sit through some liberal mumbo jumbo feel good treat women as equals "training" (yawn), and it will all be swept under the rug. The league will keep a very tight lid on this.
