We know Green is gonna get most of our carries but what do we do with Lundy, Taylor, and Dayne?

Taylor was outstanding in his only appearance last year, Lundy was solid all year, and Dayne was a rock against the Colts.

Who do you think should be #2 and who gets the third down carries?

Kubes has already said that Dayne's the 3rd down back. At least for now.

it's going to be dayne unless we somehow land peterson/lynch.

I hope that Taylor gets the chance I believe he could be our future RB. I'm sure that Dayne will get most short yardage adn goalline carries but I think that taylor would be best to spell Green.

dayne.

we have quality youth with big potential in lundy and taylor, but they have work to do. resigning dayne does 2 things ... it gives us a proven contributor who worked EXTREMELY well behind leach (4.9YPC over 4 games to be exact). secondly it puts lundy and taylor on the fringe, both know damn well that they need to fight tooth & nail just to make the team. THAT is what's going to make them starter quality when called upon later this year or in the near future. competition always creates a fear of failure and determination in players, it's going to show in those two ... preseason is going to be fun.

Dayne is a beast

I think it will all depend on our play calling/situations. Goal line situation, Ron Dayne will be in there. If we are passing, Green, and most the time Green will be in there, if he gets tired, taylor/lundy will spell him i believe. We just need to call plays to the running backs strenghts, no need to toss the ball to the outside to dayne or have green pound it in the middle 30 times a game. Be smart with our personel.

I'm sure it will be Dayne unless we pick up AD, but what happens when Schaub lobbies hard to get reunited on the field with his ol' buddy Lundy? (slight sarcasm)

Schaub & Lundy vs. Rivers & Mario (http://www.cavalierdaily.com/CVArticle.asp?ID=17553&pid=1072)

Schaub finished 41-of-55 for a school-record 393 yards and four touchdowns...Virginia (5-4, 3-3) bounced back, with the first of sophomore tailback Wali Lundy's three touchdown receptions capping a nine-play, 80-yard march.

Dayne and Green, all day, every sunday. unless one of them gets hurt. Kubes only dresses 2 rb's a game anyway. so Dayne will spell Green and vice versa. this 2headed monster w/ leach is gonna be the talk of the year.:redtowel:

Basically no chance of Peterson being on our team next year. I would stop getting my hopes up if I were you.

The chances are only slightly less than that of Vince being here next year, but that apparently doesn't stop anyone else ;)

Who cares?
All of our backs are about the same, no real gamebreakers, just solid backs.

Until we play Indy, then Dayne turns into "Mr. RD the Coltkiller". Owning the Colts since 06......

Did Mario play?

According to Jerome Solomon on his blog on chron.com (where I got the link), Mario had one tackle and deflected one of Schaub's passes.
