I hope you can still have a good career somewhere else.. You tried but the Texans failed you in the beginning by not protecting you..

You call it what you want. But Justice did raise some very good points about the previous coaching regime and Carr.

I will get flamed for this but it was not entirely Carr's fault and anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

However, those who still think the Oline was to blame for Carr's woes under Kubiak are kidding themselves too.

Kubiak did try to make him comfortable under center. He really did. It just didn't work out. Plain and simple. It doesn't mean Carr was a bum or a chump. He is too shell shocked. I hope he finds success wherever he ends up.

The Texans are moving on. Carr no longer fills the team's need for a punching bag. The Texans needed a QB and got one they think will work.

If I could say something to Carr face to face, it would be this...

"Dude. You are one tough @#%$#%! Sorry things didn't work out for you here, but hey we have to move on. Good luck to you and your family. If you ever come back through here, give me a call. I would love to buy you a beer."

There is no need to be viscious or bitter toward Carr as some people are on here. Just shake the man's hand, thank him for his service, and move on.

David has been a class act from day 1. The Texans (and alot of fans) failed him, period. God Bless, David. Thanks for your toughness, dedication, and class. :)

I thought his takes were weak. It sounded like a column Hulk would write. One excuse after the other. It sounded like true love to me. I wish the two of them much luck on their upcoming nuptials and honeymoon. :blowakiss:

I agree.

And I can see these same people jumping off the Matt bandwagon after a dismal season next year and wanting his head. Until we have a running game, no QB is gonna prove there worth. No blocking, no Defense, no running game, and on and on....

I hope this isn't another band-aid fix to a gapping wound. It needs stitches bad....

You know PORKY, every thread I read you are there to throw "cold-ice-water" on everyones posts. What's your total problem? If you don't/didn't like CARR, just leave those of us who want to wish the man the best ALONE! Gezzzz

Not everyone has "HATE" running through their veins!

Oh My!!! I can smell the bacon frying now, LOL.....

But you are right... I sort of hope they keep David Carr on as a Texan and let him and Matt battle it out for the starting position and may the best man win...

Yeah that'd be great! Having 2 QBs worth over 80 million competing for the job. Keep dreaming bub, Carr's gone and the Texans have improved.:)

Bub? Do I know you? And how in the world do you KNOW Carr is gone? Pure specualtion on your part is my best guess... I would say Sage and the other clip board carriers are gone first...

It's like common sense. Why in the world would they keep 2 QBs with starters salary? Call it speculation if you wish, but it's imminent.

And..no I don't know you.

Your insight is taking a serious hit today. First you think this is (laughably) a band-aid move, and now you think they will keep Carr to compete with Schaub. I don't know what your smoking in that peace pipe, but if you keep on puffing you may totally escape the last threads of reality you are clinging too.

I was just on cbssportsline mb and they where rippin our FO pretty hard, fans from alot of teams were saying pretty much what I've been saying. This team needs far to many things to pulling this kind of trade, alot are hoping they pick-up DC after we have to cut him. I'm pulling for the Texans but I am really worried we just messed up!!

Oh ya, I agree. We all know fans from other message boards that have never seen Carr play know a whole lot more than our FO. :brickwall

hmmmmm....something about the fact that 31 other teams have absolutely no desire to take our starting QB off of our hands indicates something....

but...I...just...can't...put...my...finger...on... it... :um:

Good luck to DC, though, wherever he lands. I kinda' feel sorry for his next offensive line, because they are about to look a whole lot worse.

Sorry, I don't smoke em peace pipe... Let's get that straight...

You think for 1 minute they are just gonna give Carr away? Even for something as cheap as a 4th round pick? I don't. Why not take him to training camp along with Matt and let them compete against one another and may the best man win? Or would it worry you that Carr would actually shape up and beat out Matt?

My reasoning is to build through the draft, not by giving away picks like we did on this deal. Yea, swapping 1st rounders and giving them a 2nd may have been a good deal for both sides, but not also including a 2nd in the year 2008. I have a strange feeling that will be a high pick...

Now let me guess, you and others think that with Matt, we will do at worst an 8/8 season. My best guess says we won't even hit 6/10. And I promise you, I hope I am so wrong and so far off of base that it becomes laughable. But I have not been wrong many times at guessing football. Not saying I am a guru because I was certainly wrong about Young's rookie season, but let's see what happens this year for him...

They were basicly saying now they just have to wait us out now,no reason to give anything up now. They will wait till we cut him, I don't like it but their right. IMO we overpaid for Matt and get nothing for DC not looking like a great move so far, I hope I'm wrong.

That was a great article. Most of the fans or haters on the message board would throw cheat shots at Carr, but the truth is the O-line left him O-lone. And by the time the new coaching staff came in to clean up the Capers mess he was already DAMAGED GOODS!!!! So hopefully he goes some where else that can appreciate him. Cause we sure didn't!!!

If Carr is reading, a word of advice: DON'T MESS WITH TEXANS!!!!!!

I'm beginning to think Carr has some sort of invisible shield I just cannot see that makes all critism of him bounce right off of him and onto someone else. This guy has more excuses than Carter has liver pills.

I agree. I have never seen a guy get more love for doing nothing. I felt bad for him for 3 years and then I realized he wasn't helping himself. Justice is an moron. He was the same one blasting Carr during the season. He wrote an article last year defending Casserly. I wrote him and went through the draft blunders. He blamed it on the coaches when he wrote me back. Then this past year he has done nothing but throw Casserly under the bus. He is the National Enquirer of sports writers and will write whatever fits the situation. He is an moron.

As for Carr, good man and I wish him luck but people saying he got no help and all haven't watched enough football and have no clue. He brought alot on himself and there have been alot of QBs that got smashed around that later succeeded.

Which excuses are these? Sound more like reasons to me. He wasn't excused from anything for last season. Last I heard, we already hired his replacement.

What a lot of folks fail to realize is that Carr's shortcomings today are the same ones from his college scouting report. Dude has just not improved in many critical areas for a variety of reasons (some beyond his control, like starting for a crappy expansion team).

But we can't keep players because they are nice, or honorable, or marketable. All that matters in the NFL is winning, and if another QB can get the job done, then so be it. Let's not get emotional about our FO doing what must be done to acheive that goal.

Very well said. You can only use the o-line/getting beat around excuse so many times. This year and the year before strides were made and teams with worse sack totals succeeded. All I ever wanted to see was some inprovement in the simple aspects of the game. He didn't. So we both move on and hopefully both do well.

LOL. Justice flip-flops more than a Washington politician during election year.

How do I get his job?

At least I would stay consistent.

Sheesh....some people have no common sense as it relates to "what you wrote LAST year is on record, on file, and it isn't matching up with what you wrote yesterday."

These guys haven't grasped the fact that the internet takes eternal snapshots of their work for us to analyze and recall at a moment's notice.

News flash, Justice: We're in the technology age, and we have the ability to stack up all the things you write and debunk your double-minded writing.

Great article by Justice. Whether he flip-flopped or not on his opinions, he raises valid points. The Texans never gave Carr enough to succeed. I wish Carr the best of luck wherever he goes. I didn't want him to be the QB next year but that doesn't mean I can't root for him.
