Michael Turner will cost a 1st and a 3rd if he is to be acquired as an RFA. Highly unlikely anyone acquires him now. Interesting move on the part of San Diego. Many thought they'd let him go for a 1st, but I guess since the team is loaded and run oriented he's a luxury they want to keep. Will make $2.35 mm in 2007. Will make Chester Taylor money in 2008.

Same thing for Matt Schaub...

The difference between a high and mid tender is almost inconsequential capwise--why not give him a high tender to start negotiations off? Fact is they have no expectation of him leaving this year and every expectation of him signing a huge contract next year.

Yup, it's pretty obviouse they intend to keep him or get a boatload of value in return.

Even though they lost their entire coaching staff, you gotta respect the GM over there for their moves in the past few years.
