I have a few questions i would like answers to concerning Carr, Plummer, and etc.

1. Why are we speaking about getting Plummer in a trade? Isnt he a FA this year, and we wouldnt need to use a pick for him, right?

2. If Carr is traded, it would be after Plummer was picked up? Right?

3. Is DW actually going to play this year? If not, then why are we reworking his contract? Shouldnt he just be retiring?

4. Who are we putting the Franchise Tag on?

5. If AP is so good as everyone says... how in the world would 7 other teams pass him up?

1. Plummer is under contract through '09.
2. You'd think.
3. Who knows? I don't think Domanick even knows.
4. Nobody...this season.
5. They won't.

You took the words right out of my mouth, the only thing I know about DW is that he went to the doctor again and had another MRI bc he knee still dosent feel right? We need to just let him go rather waste another season of IR on him.

His knee won't ever feel "right"

Play sports, get old, stuff doesn't ever feel like it once did.

Tons of people have dealt with the process and accept it as it is. Now we have someone getting paid millions who doesn't understand and pisses and moans about his aching knee, there is one word for DD/DW/whatever, "SOFT".

I would love to hear what hockey players would say about the charmin formally known as a Texan RB.

2. Not necessarily, it could be Sage, Van Pelt and a draft pick. Plummer would be very expensive plus a draft pick, especially after giving Carr $13 million last year. I don't see the FO going along with this kind of insanity. The Plummer talk is a lot of internet ramblings right now. I doubt that Shanahan will cut Plummer especially with the interest he will draw. Shanahan will not let him get away without something in return.

My honest opinion, from a few things I have heard from McNair and Smith say, I think Carr will be back.

1. Why are we speaking about getting Plummer in a trade? Isnt he a FA this year, and we wouldnt need to use a pick for him, right?

I don't know why we are talking about Plummer at all. Yeah, he'd like to play for kubes again... I don't think we need him.

That is, unless we get rid of Carr... which I wouldn't have a problem with, just don't think it's going to happen.

2. If Carr is traded, it would be after Plummer was picked up? Right?

IT depends on who's talking to whom... They might have an understanding with Plummer & Denver, pull the trigger on David, ship him off, then finalize a deal with Denver/Plummer.

Or if Kubiak feels good enough with Sage, BVP, & Porter(I don't see it, but anything could happen) they might just lock up a 3rd round pick by trading Carr..... Pronto.

3. Is DW actually going to play this year? If not, then why are we reworking his contract? Shouldnt he just be retiring?

If we can work out a trade with DD, it would be easier with an easier contract.

Personally, I'd love to see him run for us.

4. Who are we putting the Franchise Tag on?

?? I can't imagine.

5. If AP is so good as everyone says... how in the world would 7 other teams pass him up?

I'd like to know the answer to that myself.

however there are many saying that Marshawn is actually a better fit, because he actually catches out of the backfield better. So even if he is gone..

Personally, I'd like to take booker in the third if he goes that far.

1) I think he is signed through '10, but someone else said '09 (so I'll go with that).

2) I don't think so... If you sign Plummer first, every team knows that you aren't going to carry both Plummer and Carr and would wait for us to cut Carr out-right.

3) I thought he was done. I am sure that they want him to re-work his contract, because of the big contract that he signed and never had a chance to live up to. With that said, they will give him an opportunity to make the team, but not at that salary.

4) I dunno....

5) All teams have different needs. Not all teams select players by the BPA mentality. I am still under the impression that he won't be there at #8 anyway but we shall see.

3) I thought he was done.

1. The doctors told him during training camp last year that his knee would never get any better than it was at that time.

2. He was not willing to run then or live with the pain.

Sorry Texans fans. You won't see him on the field again.

He's done.

This may sound cruel, but he either needs to restructure to the league minimum or get his insurance broker's license. He's dead weight towards the cap.

Denver will more than likely cut Plummer if they can't find him a new home via a trade. If he clears waivers, he becomes a FA.

This situation is strikingly similiar to the Moulds situation during last offseason. The main issue is the price tag.

I suspect you would see a similar scenario, if it happens, which I pray it doesn't, where Plummer would be traded and then sign a new contract for a smaller amount.

1. Why are we speaking about getting Plummer in a trade? Isnt he a FA this year, and we wouldnt need to use a pick for him, right?

No, he was unseated by the rookie QB Jay Cutler. It would be unwise for Denever to carry an $8M back-up QB, hence the availability. Denver is posturing saying they have no intentions of cutting him which is why some people are willing to give a pick for him. I question that though as it would be fiscally irresponsible to carry such an expensive back-up.

2. If Carr is traded, it would be after Plummer was picked up? Right?

If Carr is traded, it is because we got an offer we liked for him. I don't know how Kubiak or Smith feels about it, and the whole QB situation probably hinges on their sentiments, but if I got my asking price for David Carr I would have no reservations going with Sage Rosenfels as my starting QB, worst case scenario. Of course I would do all I could to bring in Plummer or any other QB to compete for the starting job but if I get my 3rd rounder... goodbye David, nice knowing you.

3. Is DW actually going to play this year? If not, then why are we reworking his contract? Shouldnt he just be retiring?

In short; no, because he won't, and yes.

4. Who are we putting the Franchise Tag on?

Nobody.

5. If AP is so good as everyone says... how in the world would 7 other teams pass him up?

Well, it would be because the other teams weighed their needs and felt the reward of upgrading a poor position with a great player would improve their team more than upgrading a mediocre (at worst) position with a great player. Chances are he doesn't last, but it definitely isn't impossible that he does.

I think the deal will be difficult to get done. The Broncos want our first rounder and we will not budge on that.
