eh, at least it'll put some competion at the QB spot. whichever qb makes the cut, i'm fine with. i think that may light a fire under carr knowing him starting every sunday isn't a sure thing.

Plummer is just an older David Carr.

In terms of style of play, you're probably right.

Carr is more talented phsyically, but Plummer is much better than Carr in terms of composure and decision-making.

im not jumping out of my seat at the idea of plummer coming to houston, but as long as actually takes shots downfield and dosnt run himself into sacks on a frequent bases, im not apposed...let plummer and rosenfels battle it out and the best man get the job

How is that trollish? The guy was only making a suggestion in which he believes will help the team. For that he's a troll and a Carr hater?? Geesh, tough crowd.

Back to the topic. I support bringing Plummer in for a year or two. He might not be the best, but at least he'd give us some edge of your seat type plays every now and again.:)

i really dont know what the answer is, but plummer certainly couldnt hurt. i am sure if he came here there would be an understanding of his role, and i dont think he would command a ton of cash or even a bunch of years (2yrs. max?). he has played well in the system, and has a few playoff games as experience.

it wouldnt bother me.

15, 20, 24, 21, 14, 20, 7, 20, 7, 13.....

What are these numbers???

The number of INT's Jakes has thrown in his career, ie: He cannot take care of the ball.

Don't really want that in a QB.

I would rather have that than carr who throws as many int's w/ alot LESS td's.

...............also alot of Jake's int's come from throwing down feild trying to make a play. ( a little more exciting) Carr is boring, always looking for the check down. Then when they take that away it turns to sacks!

15, 17, 9, 13, 18, 18, 15, 27, 18, 11 - number of TD's, bolded w/ Denver.
int/TD ratio - 1:1, 1.2:1, 2.6:1, 1.1:1, 1:1.2, 1.1:1, 1:2.1, 1:1.4, 1:2.6, 1.2:1, bolded the positive ratios.
Overall int/TD - 161:161 or 1:1

vs. Carr

15, 13, 14, 11, 12 int's
9, 9, 16, 14, 11 TD's
int/TD - 1.6:1, 1.4:1, 1:1.1, 1:1.2, 1.1:1 = 6.1:5.3 = 1.5:1
overall int/TD 65:59 or 1.1:1

so, there's the stats. What's that prove? Heck if I know, just thought I'd research it. But like it's been mentioned before - stats don't tell the whole story. But if they're gonna be put out there, make sure to put them all out there.

Personally, I think I'm still somewhat "fence riding" on pro/anti Plummer coming here and pro/con Carr leaving - I'll leave that up to the Texans to make the correct decision. But I do feel Carr doesn't seem to be the one to lead a team when needing that "come from behind victory with 2 minutes left" (not sure if Plummer is either).

I think the difference between the two QBs, among other things, is Plummer doesn't have as much happy feet, hear 300 lb footsteps in his sleep, plays a little deeper ball, and not to lock onto 1 target and/ or check down to a short dumpoff. Carr, I think does. Maybe at no fault of his, maybe due to the "poo" that C&C put around him for protection and brought him into the NFL - but it is what it is.

For some reason, I want to even note that way back in the day when the Texans first started and we had the previous message board one poster (Vinny I think) wasn't too thrilled with Carr's mechanics and "style" in the college ranks. Paraphrasing of course.

If Plummer, or some other vet (maybe even Carr) is here next season - I see them as a stop gap while the Texans look for the future QB or "face of the franchise". I don't think the next move will be the final "5 year move" for that position.

So, what did I add to this? No idea. Just some random thoughts and hope that the Texans FO makes the right decsion for the team. With the people we have now in those postions, I feel alot better about it than the previous nut cases.

Plummer bound for Houston?

Houston: Talk of Jake Plummer ending up in Houston with Kubiak is heating up. It appears the Texans are focusing on Plummer as a replacement for David Carr, who remained inconsistent under the quarterback-friendly Kubiak.

Plummer, 32, will be traded or, most likely, released by the Broncos because of salary-cap reasons. Jacksonville, Minnesota and Tampa Bay could show interest in Plummer, but the Texans are the favorite. Plummer is close to Kubiak, so the Texans likely will get first crack.

good article speaking to Shanny's coaching tree as well.

Really? I did not know that Carr lead a team to the AFC championship or even had a winning season?

Plummer is just an older David Carr.
