As per the NY Times
Tom Coughlin will remain the coach of the Giants for at least
one more season, the team announced today.
Coughlin's future was clouded in doubt after the team
finished the season by losing seven of its final nine games,
including a 23-20 loss to the rival Philadelphia Eagles on
Sunday in the first round of the playoffs.

Well not so sure that was the right decision, but there isn't too many solid replacements out there, so I guess they figure the lesser of two evils. But on a positive, he has taken the Giants to the playoffs the last 2 seasons, and if they can return the guys who have spent half the season on the IR, they should most likely make it again next season..
Bad move...but then again your source is the NY Times...:shades:

The owners spoke to a few players who were cleaning out thier lockers yesterday and from what they gathered is that they support Coughlin and have no issues with him. Just because someone calls the coach out doesn't mean they don't wanna play for him, even Tiki has said he is a good coach and deserves to be back next season. And coming from him, he who has called out the coach a few times means something, then again, he is retired now.

From where I stand he's got himself a job until, say, mid October if things aren't above .500 at that time. (Geez, I really go out on a limb, don't I?)

I think the biggest question on NY fans is.....why?
Wouldn't it be something Parcells stays with Dallas this next year Coughlin gets fired next year...and Parcells opts to end his career with the organization he won superbowls with. That is circular my friends.
Does Casserly have the GM job yet?
this seems like the type of thing he would do. :stirpot:
