Im doing this on another site, figured I might as well move it over here. If possible, can I get it stickied to as it can be put to good use? Anyways, post any links to players returning or declaring and we'll get the list going (the links are to keep everything posted proven so Im not basing anything on wild rumors). BTW, the deadline to declare for the draft is January 15th, so we should see some big decisions coming up soon. And for those wondering, the lists are organized by position then alphabetically.

If Revis and Cason declare, would Hall still most likely get drafted before them? If both declare I think a trading down would be a smart decision, get a quality cb, which is needed, an extra pick, and not such a big hit on our salary cap.

I'd be happy with Landry/Nelson/Cason/or Revis.

Id be a toss up depending on workouts, but They could all go around picks 10 - 20. It should come down to if the team is drafting more for potential or immediate impact. Hall has been productive and could probably help out right away while Cason and Revis would need abit of time to develop.

I presume you mean Ray Rice since Sidney is elidgable . . . ?

Sidney. Caught me off guard, but it was ESPN.
Sidney's already elidgable, he's a RS Sophmore. He's already said he was returning, I have his name and the link in the Return section if you want to read it. It is possible he's leaving for the draft, but as of now he said he's returning.

I checked out the link and noticed it was dated in Novemer. The guys calling the game were talking about how Spurrier would promise certain numbers and somehow Mike Williams' name was mentioned.

He's there already. Ive got a buddy on another site named NinersLacking who somehow finds articles and stuff out right away, so he's helping me with it.

Brohm acted like he wasn't totally sold on staying last night after the Orange Bowl. JMO.
He isnt completely sold, but last I heard he said he's staying for now. It should be interesting how some draft grades will effect their decisions (ie Sidney Rice). For those unfamiliar with it, theirs a draft committee where players can submit their name to them and they'll say where they think the player will go. Most times, their pretty harsh about it but for good reason.

Yea the '08 draft is looking real solid in QB, RB, and LT. Should be really interesting and i would expect some good people to fall to the 2nd round with so many quality 1st-2nd rounders. I'd imagine we spend next years first day on offense and this years on defense. You have to take what the draft gives you and that's kind of how the stars are aligning.

Agreed Old Miss. I believe we're going to see a lot of hooting and hollaring from the All Day and Troy Smith crowds the end of April. Going to be Ko Simpson squared.

No official word on the best draft eligable OT in Gaither?

Gaither is a Soph. He was moved back to RT this year when Stephon Heyer returned from injury to claim his LT position. While Heyer made All ACC, Honorable Mention, Gaither was not listed. I think he still has something to prove from his own conference before being showered with all the accolades and praise.

You just wait. Gaither is a top 10 pick when he enters.

However, he is 3 years removed from HS and is draft eligable as a soph. I know all about the kid, was just wondering if anyone had heard official word while I was at work.

Accolades will come, but talent never leaves.

Moreover, where ever Gaither lined up... Friedgen put a wing man with him. I don't know and I ain't in the loop, but I ain't about to dispute the old offensive tackle. Gaither is staying in school. He's not ready yet. Heyer however, might be a day two prospect.

Agree on Gaither. He looks good for the future, but no way right now. He's got too much to do in terms of tecnhnique and maturity. He'll be top 10 sooner or later, but needs to be patient and keep working hard until then.

Most professional draft sites and experts have him as a late first/early second.

Our opinions on him may be the same, but others don't agree just yet.

Agreed, I don't think any players should really enter after only having been in college for 2 years. He's got some serious talent, but still needs time to develop and learn. As long as he isn't thrown into the fire too soon however, he SHOULD be fine. It'll be interesting to see how he grades out and where he goes.

NCAA | J. Moss leaning towards leaving school early
Fri, 5 Jan 2007 23:04:41 -0800

Edgar Thompson, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Florida DE Jarvis Moss said he is "kind of leaning" toward leaving school early and declaring for the 2007 NFL Draft. Moss said the NFL's advisory committee projected him to be a second-round draft pick.

I'll play devils advocate & say its a good move for Gaithers.

#1 there is pent up demand for LT

#2 scarcity of top LT's in the 07 draft

#3 surplus of top LT's coming out in 08 draft

enough said, money talks & he has the talent so some team will be patient & develop him, remember we are talking about a franchise LT :bowser:

Scouts seem to have their opinion right now. They have him late 1st.

the draft site I use has him ranked as the #2 WR prospect in the draft behind LSU Dwayne Bowe. even if/when Calvin Johnson declares I see him moving in front of Bowe on his combine #s and when scouts get a better up close look at him will realize his playmaking potential, in a deep WR class if he lasts to the 2nd rd. he would most likey project as the bpa when the Texans make their pick giving Andre someone who can stretch the field & Carr his playmaker :twocents:

Meachem is flying under radars and is being said to be a late first/early second right now. Granted it won't stay that way for long, but would you take him in the second with our other pressings needs?

So is the little reciever from UTEP. He looks too small , but he's one of those elite speed/quick guys.

You just wait. Gaither is a top 10 pick when he enters.

However, he is 3 years removed from HS and is draft eligable as a soph. I know all about the kid, was just wondering if anyone had heard official word while I was at work.

Accolades will come, but talent never leaves.

Well we're fixin' to see in spades there YTF.

Yes it does. We go from1 elite OT prospect to two. He needs another year to develop his technique, but everyone loved Spencer who was a freaking DT and only played 1 year of OT before everyone labled him for the HoF. Gaither is 10x the prospect of Spencer. When it all shakes out, after the combine and his private workouts, he will be top 10 material. I've been pimping the guy since last year when I couldn't help but notice him when I was reviewing tape on VD. Gaither has STUD written all over him and I just pray the Texans consider this beast.

He has big time speed, can catch the ball, and deliver a little bit of pop.

But he is a little small and has had injury problems.

I see him as a 3rd round pick.

I disagree with statement about injuries, he has played in everygame except his first at ND. He is bigger than K Faulk but is a similar RB. Would be a good change of pace back. Would he fit here? He is better than Lundy and would be an ok change w/ Dayne. He catches the ball well and has the speed to get to the outside. Walker does not run with much power. Doesn't dance and hits his hole quickly. He is a first day back or he wouldn't be coming out.

Agreed: He is a one trick poney. The trick he does is very, very nice. We'll have to see how that translates into draft position. Make a very nice weapon for somebody.

Rice too is a great prospect. But you're buying the guys speed. Not his recieving skills. I haven't seen hands that bad on a first round prospect since Kenny Burough. He definatly is a project that needs a first class recievers coach.

You need to do some re-reveiwing then. His hands are more than a little suspect. Moreover....he will have a more than difficult time bring his game into the nfl. Book it. If the ball is over the shoulder, fly pattern...it's money in the bank. On a dig, slant, or out...every target will be an adventure. The guy has world class speed no doubt. But he also comes with with some baggage in the form of hands of stone. He's a body trapper not a hands snatcher. Makes a difference.

Good for Brohm. I think he's going to be a great NFL QB, but I think he's going to benefit from staying one more year. Hopefully, his new coach doesn't mess him up.

I don't like Ginn. I think he's got a world of speed, but that's it. He's a one-dimensional receiver. He's fumbled a lot of balls. He's not the best route-runner in the world. I think he'll be the next Peter Warrick. He won't make it like Calvin Johnson will.

College football players have 72 hours to withdraw their names, provided they haven't signed with an agent.

Marshall junior running back Ahmad Bradshaw will enter the NFL draft, sources close to Bradshaw said Monday.

Bradshaw had 1,523 yards rushing this season, an average of 126.9 per game, and 19 rushing touchdowns.

Bradshaw, 5-foot-11, 192 pounds, finished sixth in the nation in rushing and topped 100 yards in five of his last six games.

Bradshaw ran for 246 yards against UAB and 261 against UTEP

Unfortunatly, the best LT in college football is staying another year. Jared Gaither will be returning to Maryland next fall instead of entering the draft. All we were ever told were rumors that he would enter, but he has pulled out to develop his technique more.

He is the top OT prospect next year and much better than either Long or Baker.

According to The Chronic (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/fbc/4478884.html), A&M's Jason Jack is going pro.
In a decision that perhaps caught many by surprise, Texas A&M junior defensive end Jason Jack has decided to forgo his senior year and enter April's NFL draft.

The school announced Jack's decision Wednesday, two days after the NFL's deadline for early entry.

Jack, a three-year starter out of Humble, came to A&M as a USA Today All-American. He was a starter through most of his career but battled inconsistency and injuries much of the time.

Jack, 6-4 and 282, finished with 21 tackles, including three for losses, last season. He graduated in December with a degree in agricultural leadership and development.
