I think Meco deserves it more so than A.J

But....

I doubt either one makes it...

I don't know about AJ, because most of the good part of his season was early, but that didn't hurt him in 2004.

I worry about DeMeco because even the Texans weren't promoing him for the Pro Bowl consistently. Saw it a little on the website, but in stadium they didn't promo it.

I don't think the Texans fanbase knows the extent of what he is doing this year, much less the NFL at large.

I guess he gets DROY but nothing else. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Jonathan Vilma was named DROY in 2004 with 107 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 interceptions, 1 touchdown, and 2 passes defensed.

He did not go to the probowl despite being around the New York press.

I have hopes for Demeco, I just don't think its going to happen. DROY for sure though.

I'm 100 % behind DeMeco.... but AJ has had a few key drops, not sure if he was stunned Carr got the ball to him or he just dropped them.
I still hope he gets in.

I think AJ will prolly make it, and Demeco could go as an injury replacement. I hope he makes it straight up, but he's a rook.

Here's some raw data from a Jets web site for rookie and position leaders
in the AFC. I think besides fan votes, there is voting by the players & coachs?
Not sure if those 2 components are equally weighted ?
With all the mobile telecom equipment and unlimited voting, I'm not surprised
that there was 70 Mil votes cast.
Since they take 4 WRs per conference and AJ is in his forth year, I figure his
chances are reasonable good.
But DeMeco is a long-shot, though probably deserving.
Like was posted earlier, the winners to be announced later today.

If DeMeco and Andre Johnson miss the pro bowl, that's ridiculous. Ryans has the second most tackles in the league and Andre has the most receptions by 10.

It's not that weird in the AFC. You have really great players like Zach Thomas and London Fletcher. Then, you have name players like Ray Lewis and Cato June.

Usually a name player gets a spot and knocks out a truly qualified guy. DeMeco's had no press until the latter part of the year.

Yeah, good points. I guess DeMeco should be satisfied with D-ROY....hopefully next year we have a defense around him that is worthy of his talents.

Nevertheless, Ryans is a third alternate for the AFC Pro Bowl squad, meaning he’ll be heading to Hawaii if three players ahead of him get injured.

That is from our official site.

Hey man, if we get that Wild Card, I could care less about the Pro Bowl.

But Keith Bulluck has had incredible stats his entire career and only made the Pro Bowl once. He has been snubbed for the 4th year in a row.

Chris Hope has over 110 tackles and 3 INTs.

What a dumb popularity contest. It makes me sick.

Not to mention Pac Man hasn't allowed a 100 yard receiver all year and has 4 INTs. Goooooooooddddddddddd

Get used to not having DeMeco in. He and Bulluck should be LOCKS for the Pro Bowl. It's a stupid popularity contenst.

Haha yeah that's understandable. Oh well, I know we have 5 Pro Bowl quality players on this team and that's all that matters.

I hope Fisher posts up the list in the locker room for the rest of the year and Bulluck and Pac-Man OWN Buffalo and New England.

i think the pro bowl has a lot to do with team respect. Good teams will get more fans to vote. No one even looks at the Texans talent. I think the reason Dre gets in is bc of his Miami fans and because of us.

Another key point - most voters vote for the guys from their team and then scan the ballot for their "other" choices. Since the ballots put the current stats right there in front of you, a guy like AJ who's been the statistical #1 WR in the league for pretty much the entire voting period gets a lot of credit.

On the other hand, DeMeco was #2 or 3 in stats for the entire voting period except the last two days when he finally got the #1 spot. Sure enough, the #1 stat guy for most of the period (Zach Thomas) got in. Not undeservedly so, either.
