I've taken up for Carr over the years and still think he can be a good QB behind a good line but its time to say goodbye and move in a different direction next year. Bring in a vet or start Rosenfels. Draft Kolb or some other QB in the 2nd or 3rd round and let him backup for a year or so.

+1. I think the same way. We need a kick start BADLY.

Cowboys line sucked too before they got a qb everyone wanted to block for or someone who would kick their crack if they didn't.

I agree. I like Carr, he's a good guy and has the physical tools to succeed, but sometimes you just need a change of scenery. At least bring in a guy to compete for the starting job if Kubiak decides to stick with Carr for another year.. Heck, bring Plummer in and say that the QB job is wide open during the spring and training camp between Plummer, Carr, and Rosenfels.

I agree Sportsfan, wholeheartedly.

I like Carr..I like his attitude, his intelligence, and his physical abilities as a QB.. but he is no longer the answer for us. Even if he made a miracle comeback, I think that he has totally lost this fanbase, and he just cant be successful here.

Thanks for voicing your opinion eloquently, and without insulting Carr, McNair, or Kubiak. That kind of thing is completely unnecessary.

If ya dont like Carr's play on the field, fine.. say so.. but if you have ever met Carr or the Carr family, you would think twice about all the insults. Great guy, great family.. I hope Carr gets on with a good team and gets a chance to grow in an established offense.. and maybe has a moment in the sun before he retires.

I like his attitude

I don't. I think he's mentally beat up. He doesn't show any "get up and go". No spirit. I'm amazed he hasn't said, "I've had enough". I give him credit for not quiting so far.

Yeah I figure there's no reason to insult the guy. He's the victim of Casserly's, Caper's, and Palmer's poor decisions for the first 4 years of his career.
I'd really like to see him stick around and work w/Kubiak more and let us continue to build a solid O-line and have a game changing RB like A. Peterson back there w/him, but this is a business and McNair and company MUST do something or they'll start losing fans and therefore lose money. And i don't care how good of a character guy McNair is, he's running a business and he'll soon realize (hopefully he has already) how horrid this franchise has become and heads will roll.
The Texans are the most losing franchise in the last 5 years, swallow that.
Anyway, I wish Carr luck and I hope he can bounce back and have a good career. We need a change though. I don't care what they do, its time to win though.

Two things come to mind:
1. the abc's of football "Anything But Carr"
2. The Beatles song " Baby you can have my Carr":shades:

Yes but will Kolb kneel with Mr. McNair. Or addressing as yessir and nosir. If he shows any independence he's not going to fit in here. I mean what if he kicks up his heels at Gilleys and get's into a fight in the parking lot. Mr. McNair and his wife will just die. This is a class business here and by golly it's going to put the capital B in business. If you weren't punching a clock before you got here, you will soon after. Until we accept the problem is at the top, we will not see why this is all happening. The guy at the top is a Jimmy Carter cookie cutter. He probably sets the racket ball court schedules and decides the font size on the brochures. McNair needs to disappear from decision making. When he said he was going to have to get more involved after he canned Casserly and Capers was anyone doubting his hands were all over the drafts up to that point? And does anyone doubt he made the decision on who to draft last year with the first pick?

I like DC as a person, but its time for him to go. Most fans do not want him here anymore, and I dont think DC wants to be here anymore either.

[QUOTE=Sportsfan;542681] He's the victim of Casserly's, Caper's, and Palmer's poor decisions for the first 4 years of his career.

Maybe it is time to re-think this. When was Carr playing well? When was the line playing "decent"? We were close to being 8-8 and then the "cleveland" game.

The next year Coach Palmer had Capers buddy(pendry) and the zone blocking scheme forced on him. The offensive line must have not practice pass blocking at all.
It kept getting worse, and the lemmings screamed for heads to roll. Palmers head rolled and the train to disaster only picked up speed.

Meanwhile the light went back on in coach palmers brain and he remembered he knew something about coaching quarterbacks. Enter Tony Romo.

Maybe the correct answer would have been to make Palmer the head coach. If nothing else the offense would be aggressive and the ball would be going downfield.

Maybe Carr was a poor decision by Casserly among a bunch of other poor decisions?

I don't understand how Casserly could be such a goof on all things but got the drafting of Carr absolutely right.

It just doesn't make sense if you follow it logically...

I recall a particular Cowboy's game that had Troy Aikman so pissed he was screaming in his line's faces and spitting! Then he went to the sideline and tore the coach a new one. I know he said "This is my F'ing career here!" That was when the cowgirls had that lame coach that didn't last, whatever his name was.

Since I'm sporting Carr right now, I can say that I'd really like to see him tear into people when he gets sewn to the carpet.

Tom Landry...

I agree,he needs to make other people accountable for the lack of performance they are gettting away with. A few of those sacks yesterday were wholesale slaughter, had to be missed assignments.

LOL..no, not Mr. Landry. It was that guy who was either a college coach or someone's waterboy before Jones stuck him in there. It was after Swisher I'm pretty sure.

oh ok...Misread it...i try to block out the Cowgirls as much as possible.

I'd like to ask you if you think you could take the hits Carr has and still be alive to report to work on Monday. For 5 years, man. What do you say? How about all of you haters suit up Sunday? You may not like him because his TEAM sucks around him, but he's no pansy when it comes to standing up and trying again. It's a freakin' miracle his career hasn't ended because of his team.

I do think Carr has lost his total confidence and not sure he will be able to get that back...We can only hope..Till then Sage might be a good option till Carr can work his way back up to starting...For next year that is...

I think his lack of intelligence is one of the main things holding him back. Personally, I could care less about him being a great guy or coming from a great family....you dont have to be Captain America to win football games.

I'm not sure how smart he is .... I think he's just not one of these guys who was'nt born with this unyielding confidence .... now his is gone .

He now just panics when he's back there . I guess it's the same as getting tongue tied and that kills him .

In the game yesterday the announcer said that he does'nt anticipate his recievers getting open ... and if you wait you'll be late .

I have been asking for years if there is a mob hit out on Carr and the freakin' line has been letting every dog through the screen door. I don't know how David handles that crap. I'd be grabbing jersies and cussing a lot if I wore #8.

I think that this is what a portion of the haters want, I think they want him to blow up and get pissed-off and stay pissed the whole game.

The only problem is it's not the guys personality, I guarantee that if I was the receipiant of those sacks yesterday......well let's just say the next time the O-line bent over, one of those fellas would be removing a football from his arse.

Carr is good. Don't hate him because he's beautiful.

Take a look at the Top Slice nominees and tell me it's all Carr.

Yeah, Carr is sucking it up which prevents everyone, offense and defense, from having any significant plays all game. :ok:

We playes a tough team and lost, but our team is getting better. We doubled the wins already. Everyone of you haters sucks.

Buh-bye.

If I was Carr, he would either be pulling a foot out of his arse or we would be called for a false start over and over for me kicking him in the arse for 5 yards everytime he let someone through.

But I just don't see us saying goodbye to David just yet. A weak draft class will produce nothing for us and the 1 FA will be too high in draft choices for us to pursue. So welcome to Houston for another year Mr Carr.
