View Full Version : Any Positives?

I thought that our young defensive players all had solid games. Starting with SS Glenn Earl & DeMeco with 8 tackles apiece. Greenwood, Faggins & Dunta all were solid with 5 apiece. trying to find some positives, anyone :hides:

Any Positives?

the game is over.

David Anderson had a very nice catch and run. He breaks alot of tackles for being a small WR. Other than that, Ryans and Earl stuck out the most.

Possitive: only two losses left out there.

Carr's hair is still beautiful and his face in intact.

Ron Dayne...

Second Honeymoon

Ron Dayne played well.....that is about it.

The only thing positive about this Texans season is that its about to end.

another chance to restructure payroll, starting with David Carr :whip:

defensively we did pretty darn good holding Brady to a mild 105 passing yards.

LOL... Its hard to rack up passing yards when you are starting at the other teams 30 yard line....

Babin set a career high with his 5th sack.

I felt Eric Winston palyed a strong game at right OT. He gave up no sacks and the running game was far more effective when going to the right side. Some have doubted this kid and yes he had a bad game at Oakland but he has continued to improve and is quietly becoming a solid player at that position. Getting Spencer back would be huge. I truely believe these two will more than live up to their billing!!!!!!

Yeah, I thought the line did a pretty good job of run blocking against a pretty strong Pats team.

I do think if it had been a closer game, Brady would have passed our d-backs silly, but the game was out of reach early and they pulled in the reins a bit.

beerlover, thanks for trying to find some positives. This forum has become so negative it's ridiculous.

David Anderson.

12-18-2006, 12:58 PM
How about that was one down and now there are only two more games left in 2006? That seems like a positive to me.

I thought Anderson looked really good on that catch and run. I keep thinking that young man is going to turn into something special. I bet next year he becomes a real asset as our #3.

I thought Dayne again provided a solid effort on the ground. I thought Winston did ok and got much needed experience again. He'll need it next season if he's going to try and hold on to that starting spot. Zack Weigert is a threat to go on the injured reserve list every week so the more experience Winston gets the better off we are next year when Weigert either doesn't come back or gets hurt in week 3 (4, 5, 6, or whenever). Same applies to Drew Hodgdon. The more starts under his belt he gets the better off we are when Flanagan goes down again.

Getting the depth some reps is a positive.

David Anderson.

David Anderson, Ron Dayne, and on the kick return for a TD, Chris Taylor showed a lot of heart by not giving up the chase even though there was no way he was going to catch the guy. Taylor came from the contain position on the far left side and passed all of the other Texans and ended up being only a step or two behind the guy when he crossed the goal line.

Sorry to tell you but sage went on the IR...you guys are still stuck with carr....

back to your game, I would say that the only positive for you guys was ron dayne, who had another good game...

All things considered, the Defense played pretty dang good.
To me a clear indication that we need to concentrate on the offensive side
of the ball in the offseason.

12-18-2006, 03:19 PM
On offense, not much. Dayne had another good game and Anderson had a good catch and run. That's about it.

On defense, I think they played about as well as they could under the circumstances. Mario had a couple of good plays in their backfield. Babin got his 5th sack and now leads the team. Woopee! Sorry (I'll try to keep this as positive as I can). Ryans had another solid, but unspectacular, game. I think that's about all I can recall.

Kubes and Smith really have their work cut out for them in the offseason!

Thanks for starting this thread. I was really getting tired of all the other negative ones!

One additional plus for all of you fans who were wondering if Winston could move with his knee???? He was the one who chased down the DB on an interception and led to only a field goal instead another TD !!!!!!!
The Kid has hustle...........

40 Points means you suck on defesne too! So glad that Houston passed on Derrick Johnson too. Now he and VY can have satisfying careers instead of hanging out on a LOSER team like the Texans Pop Warner Squad!
