View Full Version : Who's Your #2 Team??? [:-o>

Pretty sure I've seen threads like this before...just can't remember.
Simple question...all in good fun.

Almost everyone I know has their "FAVORITE TEAM" but sort of has some old feelings and secretly pulls for their "#2 Team."

Who is your #2 Team? Or do you have one? And why?

[Coincidentally...this has NOTHING to do with the Texans! Unless of course they ARE your #2 team.]

For me: #1-->Oilers (Sorry...but they always will be)

Ok LYB, when you say the "Oilers" are you including the Titans as well?

If you are not, I agree, I would say the Oilers before they became the Titans.

My second team would be the Texans.

My third team is whoever is playing against the Titans and the Colts.

I posted this on TexansTalk.

#2 Saints (TOTAL Bandwagon, you need ONE winning team every year! besides, great story, New Orleans, etc.)
#3 Browns
#4 Bengals
#5 Broncos (Lil_Red influence)
#5 Steelers

No number: Bears and Chargers, I like the way they play this year, exciting games.

I have not taken to Green Bay, Lil_Red's #2 team. I just don't like them, lol (except for AJ).

Since the Oilers don't exist anymore
1 Texans
2 Saints because they stomped on the Cowgirls but should've ran the score up more.

I'm with you about the Raiders T84...as far as football, it'd be Raiders...Jets...Saints.

Raiders, cause they ROCKED in the 70's...

Jets, do to Namath in the early years...

Saints, every since I was a kid and I thought their helmet emblem was cool...they just sorta stuck with me...

2) Bengals (I've always thought Palmer was a very good QB)
3) Bears (Urlacher, do I need to say more?)
4) Saints (I liked them more back in the Sam Mills days)
5) Green Bay (Basically due to the football history)

I havent ever really decided on a #2.

Lately ive been favoring the Buccaneers as my #2 team. Other teams its been the Panthers, the Lions, and the Cardinals.

I havent ever really decided on a solid #2.. but I intend to make that choice eventually. The Saints have become really interesting to me, I mean its a great story, and they have some players there that I really respect.. but since they have Reggie Bush, I cannot in good conscious, support them as my second team.

The day Jerry Jones dies, the Cowboys may become my #2 guys.

I'm going to lobby for ya'll to consider the Chargers, why?

1. The Chargers were a team that was a perennial loser and turned it around. The Chargers were so bad, that Eli Manning declared he would rather go to law school than play in San Diego.
2. The Chargers have LT (a fellow Texan) who is one of the best persons in the NFL. Every home game, LT invites 21 under privileged kids to a Chargers game and takes them out to dinner afterward - its called the 21 club (http://www.chargers.com/team/roster/ladainian-tomlinson.htm).
3. LT is on your fantasy team and if not, you will do just about anything to trade for him.
4. The Chargers have an exciting offense and excellent defense, and,
5. You will have a team to pull for in this years Superbowl.

While the Saints are a feel good story, there is no way the Saints get past the Bears.

#1 -- Houston Texans. I will always be able to say that I was a through thick-and-thin fan from the beginning of the franchise. I was here when they got off the ground. Becuase one year, when they win the Super Bowl, a lot of fair-weather fans are going to come out of the woodwork. But I will have been here all along.
#2 -- Dallas Cowboys. They are my father's team and they are also from Texas. Gotta pull for Texas teams over anyone else in the NFL. The only game I root against Dallas? When they play Houston.

Same for me. Unfortunately, the only time I saw them at the Alamodome they lost to the Lions (my wife's team) on a last second field goal. It really sucks when she's able to gloat about the Lions beating the teams I cheer for. :bag:

IMO, the Saints got boned last year. Having to play games and practice must've been hard on that team. I mean, playing in Giants stadium and calling it a Saints home game was just rediculous. Oh, let's put up some Sainst signs and call it thier home game. Pfft!

They had...what...3 "home games" in SA, 4 in Baton Rouge, and 1 in NY? I agree with you. They kinda got shafted last year.

Sorry, I kind of went off a little, but you could've told you wife that.:)

I did. She just said "Pff. Excuses." and went on to remind me about the Texans losing to the Lions in 2004. As if I could forget. :(

In case you cant tell, we're quite mean to each other when it comes to "our" sports teams. The amount of gloating she had to endure when the Spurs beat the Pistons in the Finals probably didnt help my cause. It was great though. Started out as one really long "HAAAAA!" and continued from there. :D

My favorite NFL teams...

1. Texans. I've been a season-ticket holder from Day 1, and last Sunday's results notwithstanding, there will come a day when the Commissioner hands Bob McNair the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the World Champion Houston Texans. (Hey, you still gotta believe, far-fetched as it seems now...)

2. Packers. I lived in Wisconsin during the Wolf-Holmgren years and the SB XXXI win over New England. I still regret I didn't purchase a share of stock held a stock sale in the late 1990s.

3. Patriots. Followed 'em casually since the late 70s, for whatever reason. Glad they've had success in recent years.

4. Everyone else, in no particular order. Well, the other AFC South teams are at the bottom of the list...

If we talking NFL teams then

#1 Texans
#2 Bears.

I started watching the NFL back in 1982 and the Bears were one of the first teams I saw on TV. It was actually number #34 that converted me. So they were the first NFL team I followed.

#3 Pats, Seahawks, Bengals

Bu the number one sports team I follow is Manchester City FC who play in the English Premier League.

Packers......grew up in Wisconsin and it's required by law that you follow them. The IV cheese injection hurts a bit the first time, but after 20 or so years it wasn't a problem.
