Not a good day for the Jaguars on Sunday:

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Bobby McCray has been charged with reckless driving and possession of a controlled painkiller after being stopped for racing with another player.

According to a police report, a Jacksonville sheriff's officer saw McCray's car coming up on his car from behind with flashing blue and white lights Sunday. He thought it was an emergency vehicle so he moved over, the report said.

McCray's car and two other vehicles then passed the officer, who determined McCray's car was traveling at 92 mph in a 65 mph zone. When McCray was pulled over, he told the officer he had come across one of his teammates and they were just playing around.

McCray was arrested on charges of racing on the highway, reckless driving and prohibited use of the blue lights.

While searching McCray, the officer says he found two white pills in his front pocket.

He told officers the pills were Vicodin and a trainer had given them to him. NFL team doctors often prescribe painkillers to players after games. The pills were later identified by a poison control worker as the painkiller hydrocodone and Tylenol.

The police report said McCray was taken to the Duval County Jail and was released at 1:24 a.m. Monday on bail. The amount was not immediately available.

McCray is a seventh-round draft pick out of Florida. He had nine sacks and 48 tackles in his first two seasons with the Jaguars.

The team declined to comment.

They didn't waste any time getting back to Jacksonville. I've often wondered how many athletes used controlled painkillers due to the nature of the profession.
