I find it amusing that they call us a 4th quarter comeback team... We may have won a few games in the 4th, but we lose the majority of them in the second half.

TexSon
09-26-2004, 04:36 PM
We WON!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE

We played pretty awful for much of the game- but somebody always stepped up at just the right time to keep us in it.

Coleman with the pick an TD
Johnson and Armstrong and Gaffney with HUGE catches
Peek with the sacks
Wells with the 2 point conversion
Brown with the winning field goal

We really needed that win.

Colemans td turned the game around 100%

That was a 14 point swing. It was acually was a 15 point swing because we converted the 2-point conversion...

And I am doing the same thing that swisher is doing....

Great Win by the Texans....

things i noticed...

Jonathan Wells wants his job back
Palmer and/or Capers must look up these boards, cuz they were goin deep enough to everyone's delight.
Defense caught fire after the Coleman 102 yd TD
Injuries were popping up left and right :(
Carr did great in the clutch on 2 different drives :thumbup
Andre Johnson is ballin',like hes supposed to!!!
AND FINALLY.....

KRIS BROWN IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!11

THATS HOW US TEXANS ROLL AT KC!!!!! WE WIN!! WE WIN!!

Speaking of Armstrong, what round did we draft win in because he is awesome has great hands and runs great routes and seems to always make the big catch.

Keldar
09-26-2004, 04:45 PM
We played pretty awful for much of the game- but somebody always stepped up at just the right time to keep us in it.

This is definitely NOT a case where winning cures all. We have some serious problems. (O-line, D-line, No pass rush, etc.)

Get Peek in the game and leave him. Or switch to the 4-3, cuz Wong and Babin are ineffective at rushing the passer.

RTP2110
09-26-2004, 04:49 PM
Wong was solid all game long, but Peek showed much more production than Babin. Peek's prescence was known as soon as he stepped on the field.

ThaShark316
09-26-2004, 04:50 PM
If Foreman is out for a long period of time...look for Wong to start at ILB and Peek at OLB,

And yeah,Armstrong made 2 clutch catches :headbang:

Keldar
09-26-2004, 04:50 PM
Wong had a great game today.

In rushing the passer? What's your take on his game today?

What do you think of the difference when Peek was in on the other side today?

Keldar
09-26-2004, 04:52 PM
If Foreman is out for a long period of time...look for Wong to start at ILB and Peek at OLB,

I would like to see that, but Babin still concerns me. He looks like he is not in the same league when considering his overall play in, play out performance.

jacquescas
09-26-2004, 05:07 PM
Smith also made that good play when he dropped into coverage late in the game

Keldar
09-26-2004, 05:07 PM
Wong did an outstanding job of keeping contain on the edge.

I agree with that.

I will say that Foreman had a good day, Dunta Robinson and Glen Earl had a bunch of tackles although Dunta was roasted a couple of times (more rookie stuff).

I agree again. I think the "Duke of Earl" is gonna be a very good player.

texasguy346
09-26-2004, 05:38 PM
Other than one blocked pass RoSmith wasn't too impressive...but I will have to watch the game and look for individual performance to give a full opinion.

Didn't he have two passes defensed? He blocked that one pass at the line then he was out in coverage in a zone blitz covering a WR and he either batted to ball or forced the guy to miss the catch. He played pretty well I thought. Ionane hasn't gotten much attention but he had that great tackle on Holmes the play before the Coleman INT, and he had a pretty good push inside from time to time. We just need to get a better pass rush more consistently. If I'm not mistaken Peek came in after all the injuries to the D-Line and he and Wong were playing as DEs. He did apply good pressure though, and I like him and Wong at DEs in passing situations better than Wong and Babin.

good game texans thanks for beating the chiefs

Thanks, and it looks like ya'll are in trouble early on against Denver. Tomlinson had a 38 yard pass to Drew Brees too. Looks like Marty's breaking out the 'trickeration'. Good Luck.

Excellent win for us :thumbup I got pretty nervous there in teh 4th quarter but Big plays like Coleman's INT and Andre's two big catches gave us a lot of momentum and confidence.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can post a message about a game. Three years in and I got to see one from start to finish. Pleased with the win of course but geez, could Carr run for his life any more than he did? Seemed like every play the pocket collapsed and he was trying to survive.

My take:

1. Carr needs security. Shore up that o-line because it is sad.
2. Throw, throw, throw. Not this little stuff but go BIG. Obviously we have the guys to catch the rock we just need to use them. That catch by AJ kicked MAJOR ace and Gaffney did well also.
3. Good job by the D. Not stellar but they were there when they were needed.

I look at this game like this. If we take away the int by Carr and by Green we still come out up by 3. Good job.

I know that I'm not saying anything new. I'm just amped that I can finally talk about a game!!!!!

GO TEXANS!!!

:headbang:

JustBonee

The o-line is sad. Why are they continuing to collapse? ..
Looks like we're back to year 1 again, and David running for his life.
Love the spark of Coleman and his 102 yds today .. who changed the game around.
Love our great kicker Kris, who always comes through for us.

Armstrong is a wonderful addition. Glad we have him.
BUT, I'm missing Starling, who's absence could be seen a couple times today on special teams.

I'm sure the Chiefs are officially in a panic mode. They're going in for a TD to ice the game and all of a sudden on one play the whole game/momentum changes. It's such a funny game.

I know they never expected to be 0-3.

We didn't do much offensively to deserve that win but we will take it. If Coleman doesn't intercept that pass in the endzone we lose plain and simple. Our offense didn't look any better than the first 2 games. I'm very happy for the win.

If we don't lose that interception in our endzone we win. Without the turnovers from both teams we still win by a field goal. I'm happy. Not extremely happy, but happy.

It was killing me how much Carr was running for his life, come on o-line where are those blocks??

SUPER SUPER catch by AJ way to stick with it and haul it in.. Gaff and bradford also had some good catches....

Wells great running (even though every time he touched it I pleaded with the football gods "dont let him drop it on the ground")

DD- The chiefs had your number, didnt help that the o-line really didnt get after anyone and block them......

Carr - did some great work, the int was bad but that was also Gaff slipped and the DB had to catch it..

K. Brown - WHAT A FOOT - he had 4-5 more yds on both of his 40+ kicks
Learned a pretty decent stat. Browns longest in his career is 55, at that stadium facing the same way he did sunday....

Defense - at times they had me dying., but did what they had to do to win the game. Coleman great int and great run.........

Gary Walker great pass coverage, that was a funny thing to see him drop back in coverage........

Being perfect would be nice for a QB. However, it doesn't exit. A mistake by Carr, yes, but overall I believe he threw for 220 yards. 1-2 sounds awefully good.
