Tennessee hasn't given running back Chris Brown permission to help arrange the trade he has requested, but one of Brown's agents said there are talks going on and he thought the Dolphins would be a good fit for Brown.

While agent Wynn Silberman said, ''A dialogue does exist between the Titans and teams that might find Chris to be an excellent fit,'' he couldn't say one way or the other if the Dolphins were one of those teams.

''But you look at the potential two-back system, that might be a powerful opportunity for Miami,'' Silberman said.

Silberman said the 6-3 Brown has beefed up to 240 pounds without losing the breakaway speed that allowed him to average 4.9 yards per carry in 2004 when he rushed for 1,067 yards in 11 games. Last year, the long-limbed Brown entered the season listed at 220.

Durability questions dog Brown. A turf toe injury cost him five games in 2004, and a hamstring injury cost him five games in 2003. While he played 15 games in 2005, several injuries and the Titans' propensity for facing large deficits dampened his rushing totals -- 851 yards on 224 carries, only four more total carries in four more games than his 2004 season.

Tennessee clearly has its doubts that Brown is its No. 1 back. Before last season, the Titans traded for running back Travis Henry. At this year's draft, they used a second-round pick on Southern California running back LenDale White. They also wouldn't grant Brown a contract extension.

Dolphins coach Nick Saban has indicated he would like to upgrade the backup running back spot.
