This is not to blame Dom Capers just as look at his 4 years in Carolina and his 4 years here

1995 7-9
1996 12-4
1997 7-9
1998 4-12

Wins/Losses 30-34

2002 4-12
2003 5-11
2004 7-9
2005 2-14

Wins/Losses 18-46

The difference in the 2 four year spans is N-F-L, after both 1995 expansion teams made playoffs and Championship games in 2nd year. NFL stepped in with rules to make sure that never happens again, I would relate it to being kid born after parents decide different set of rules for last kid. Had we had same luxuries Jaguars and Panthers had we could have had a winning season AND made playoffs already:stirpot:

Both times he has a pattern-a couple years in peek and then bomb the last year and get fired. I hoped he enjoyed being a head coach because he's going to have a hard time getting back to being one for a reason.

the ONLY difference between the teams is that in carolina he had a stable of veterans available instantly, and in houston (because of the changes) he had to actually build a team. in either case, he was nothing more than a hinderence. carolina's 1996 team got as far as they did DESPITE dom capers. even with another 2 years to improve on a 12-4 team, capers has never had another winning season. dom capers is a defensive coordinator at most, and at his strengths a linebackers coach.

The BEST thing is our ownership is smarter than Carolina's, we didn't get some coach who was working for money. We skipped that step and went to new coach former coordinator, which i think puts us a couple of years ahead:yahoo:

I'll bet he has a head coaching job in 2007. Most understand the difficulty he faced talent wise, which is exactly what the initial post outlined.

It is obvious you refuse to give Capers credit for anything, even his successes in Caroline. You sound pretty biased.
