View Full Version : Texans still paying Capers

Barry Jackson, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins will not give special assistant Dom Capers the title of defensive coordinator, but that essentially is his job with the team. The Dolphins save cash that way, causing the Houston Texans to pay Capers $2 million in 2006 and the Dolphins only $300,000.

smart by the water mammals but stinks for the Texans :brickwall

unless you look at it as we paid 2 million to get rid of Capers and crew :)

Here is a dumb question.. Is this salary part of the cap or is this on something separate?

Separate. I think this is based soely on the fornt office part of the organization, and not on the field business.:fireball: :bowser:

Definitelyt doesn't count against the cap.

I think this was alreayd posted somewhere else, but...

"Two million to have Dom Capers NOT coach the Texans? BARGAIN!!!"

Here'sis actual quote from the Miami Herald story.......sounds like a real vote of confidence.:

Dom Capers won't have the defensive coordinator title, but that essentially is his job. ''Maybe some day he'll be that, but not this year,'' coach Nick Saban said. Miami is saving a bundle by withholding that title. Now Houston, which fired him as head coach, must pay Capers $2 million in 2006, and Miami only $300,000.

With a winnig season McNair will make that $2 million on beer sales on one home game.

Umm, I would think another losing season would increase beer sales as Kubiak drives the fans to drink.
