I don't spend as much time here as I used to, so I apologize if this has been posted before.

cleveland, OH: why would Texas take RB-Bush with the first pick when rumor has it that he's not going to be an every down back? With Carr breaking his own sack record every year, wouldn't D. Ferguson make a better choice so that they can finally have a passing game? Plus, Kubiak is from Denver, they never take RB's in the first two rounds, why would that philosophy change now? In short, why waste a pick on a player who isn't going to play every down when you can pick a player that can solidify your line for the next 10 years?
Rob Rang: In a nut-shell, because Reggie Bush really is that good. You are right, of course. He isn't considered an everydown back. That said, Houston will split him out at receiver and could elect to take him out of short yardage situations to limit the hits on him. This kid has change of direction and acceleration like no one else I've ever seen except Barry Sanders. When you get a chance to take a dominant offensive weapon that your opponent must account for on every play, you do it.

That's pretty much it right there.

I agree competely. I want the team to take Bush with the #1 pick, unless another team makes us an offer we can't refuse.

Looking forward to the draft party on Saturday!

Unless the dominant offensive weapon wants to get paid over the top coin... then you say sayonara and take what many are considering the next dominant defensive weapon that teams will have to take into account on every play.

There is a reason the Texans have the #1 pick. Its not to be cheap with it. Your acting like the money the give Reggie will come out your direct pocket. If Mr.McNair wish to give Reggie 30 or 40 Million signing bonus then who gives?

I read the first half of the original post and thought, man, someone finally is talking reasonable. So I decided to skip down to some of the responses to see what people thought about it. I was definately surprised when everyone started talking about Bush. Then I went back and finished the article. I was greatly disappointed.

If for some reason we do get Bush, I hope we get an OL in the second round and at latest third. This really has gotten out of hand. Every year we say things will work out, and it hasn't yet. There's a crop full of above average lineman out there this year, please Texans, get help where you need it.
