Dolphins | Capers excited by opportunity
Mon, 17 Apr 2006 20:14:51 -0700

Ethan Skolnick, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins special assistant Dom Capers is looking forward to his opportunity to just focus on being an assistant coach. Capers feels he can develop more close relationships with his players as an assistant rather than a head coach. He also thinks his eight-years of head coaching experience will serve the Dolphins well, "To me, experience is the best teacher for any of us."

Yes, but he did manage to fit an "ex" and a couple of "e's" in there.

Capers may not be the best leader, but you lock him in a room with a chalk board and he gets the job done.

I think Capers is a much better assistant than a head coach. Being the head coach allows you to pick your assistants and I think Dom had too many of his buddies on the staff. He seems to be very loyal and I think that was what ultimately brought him down here. I hope he does well in Miami.

Huh? :um: What job? Writing "I'm not an NFL head coach" 500 times in chaulk? yeah, I guess so.

Maybe Houston just brought out the 'execute' in him.

I mean he loves being an assistant. So much so that he gazes into space with his mouth wide open when he thinks about it.

I really do hope he is successful. He's a fine gentleman.
