View Full Version : Do you understand what Bush can do in the NFL?

when was the last time a running back rushed for 1000 and caught 1000 yards in a season? It has happened, but it's rare. He is that kind of player. He doesn't have suspect hands. He isn't slow. HE IS THAT SPECIAL!!! And before you start saying it can't/won't happen that is only 63 yards a game on both ends. VERY OBTAINABLE!!! I swear, if Bush was the one from Houston and went to Texas this wouldn't even be a argument. But those with orange tinted glasses keep pressing the issue. Never mind the fact most if not all draft services have Bush the first player on the board and Young the 2-3 best QB. Needless to say I can't wait for the 29th when Bush is selected and we can focus on something else.:brickwall

He could do that, he could also, like most RB his size, be injury prone and not make a whole season! Too small! 4.41 40 on track in spikes LOL

KSig44
04-03-2006, 03:58 PM
And VY, like most scrambling QB's, be injured half the games in a year. Reggie is betetr built than any smaller RB's that have come out. I will take my chances.

right too small ask tiki Barber who is the same size, ask warrick dunn orr barry sanders who were both smaller backs?

4.41 40 time so you're just picking the slowest possible time? then give VY something in the 4.6 range

Do you understand what Reggie Bush has shown himself capable of doing in the NFL??

NOTHING.

what Kiwi said. Im stoked that we might be getting Bush, but im not gonna proclaim his greatness yet :). #1 pick or #255 pick.. a rookie is a rookie.

Same with VY. So we are at a stalemate.

However, look at how many scouts have Reggie Bush rated as the highest player to come out in years. I think you would be hard pressed to find many scouts that would rate Young over Bush. The scouts are sometimes wrong, but I'd take one of them over 100 of us in evaluating players...in a heartbeat.

ALL OF THEM!

You dont use the #1 pick for a need. You take the BPA.

I drafted a RB with like 78 speed and 56 catch in Madden, and he scored something like 2000 rushing yards and 1200 receiving yards. In 5 games.

LOL, I said "I can't wait to play with Bush..." Sorry, I know it's stupid.

When Reggie played UT,what exactly did he do? UT defense was very good and who did all the damage? L.White, that's who. Ohio State had a great defense( I believe thier linebackers will be drafted in the first round). What did Vince do to them ?Does anyone remember that game?:ok:

What did Bush do against Texas? Not only did he have 170 yards and a touchdown, but because Texas was focusing on him, other players on his team had great games.

I had the pleasure of witnessing the incredible Rose Bowl of 2005, and I saw two incredible teams battling it out in every aspect of the game. I also witnessed a "non-producing" Bush produce 82yards rushing (6.3yard avg) with a rushing TD and 95yards on 6 rec (avg of 15.8YARDS!!!!). I admit he was definitely SHUT DOWN (SARCASM). He also would have had a 2nd rushing TD, but attempted to do too much by lateralling to a FB who couldn't catch a ball if his life depended on it. And I also believe, before you attack his maturity or whatever you might come up with, that VY did the exact same thing on the next drive, except he got away with a clearly evident forward lateral. I am not arguing that VY had a worse game than Bush in anyway, all I am saying is your claims that Bush was shut down by Texas are false.

Uhhh.....Notre Dame was pretty good this year and he beat them.

Show me a game against a GOOD opponent that VY sat in the pocket and beat them with his arm. He won't run like he did in college in the NFL, so show me he can be a NFL type QB.

WRONG. VY did not pitch a forward lateral. The issue at hand was that his knee was down prior to making the lateral.

AS SUCH YOUR ARGUMENT BECOMES NULL AND VOID.

Well...there was the (20) Arizina team where he ran for 110, then there was Notre Dame, where he put up 160 rush 3TD plus 35 rec yards; Arkansas with 125 yards 1TD; and then of course there was the UT defense where he blew around the corner to score 1 TD and put up 82 yards with 95 rec yards

Even with Matteo and LW , they couldn't pull it off. The guy is going to be good but he (Matteo) will never be Vince. Were we all watching the same game? I think AJ Hawk is a stud because he is the only person I have seen who could keep up(but he had alot of help).

Haha. These threads are so interesting to me. I only have one (combined) response to this.

Vince Young is a versatile athlete who will be a good choice for whichever team picks him. But it will not be the Texans. Reggie Bush's stats are outstanding, and he is only a Junior! Vince Young sure did well scrambling against college defenses. He could hurt almost every team in the NCAA with his legs, combined with a quick launch and decent accuracy. Why are those words in bold? Because that is college.

In the NFL, VY will realize that there are men watching him scramble, and these are men who will deliver the hit if he is careless. Not little guys in the NCAA. If he tries to scramble on every play, he will soon realize that this is not a good strategy in the NFL. He could be an above average pocket passer if he invested his time into it. There is no reason to doubt his potential. But will he dominate with his legs in the Big League? Not quite.

Bush's numbers prove that he will be a formidable enemy, and it is a rarity that such a prospect at RB is a complete flop. At worst, he will take injuries early in his career that cause him to remain only an above-average rusher. But with vision and talent, reinforced by Kubiak, Bush could be better than even LT, who showed extreme potential at Reggie's age.

Go Texans!

VY is a junior, he only played three years. The same thing you hold against Young you must do the same thing, unless Bush played in the NFL for three years and didn't tell anybody. Besides Bush is surrounded by more talent than Vince was. He did more with less.

BTW Notre Dame had a very poor defense, I think USC didn't play any defense ranked in the top 30 or something to that effect. VY did lead Texas over tOSU in Columbus where the Buckeyes had never lost at night to a non-conference oponent(sp). He won with his arms in that game. Reggie's best game of the season was won by 8 at home against an team that didn't even win their own non-BCS conference (lost to Nevada the next week. Vince's worst game was against a hated rival on the road and they won by 11.

Unless I have mysteriously split my personalities, I believe it was me who posted the original post, and also I who posted that response. Hmm, but I am being laughed at?

I am still waiting for an at least somewhat educated response to my sincere question. What does it really matter?

And for the idea that there is more than one person on a team... I agree. But we have a QB who is yet to prove whether or not he is either a complete flop or a late blossom. Carr has much talent, and even if you believe that he is worthless.... McNair has put a large chunk of cash into him this year. At least recognize that for moneys sake.

So Fresno State has a better defense than USC. Wouldn't that make Reggie's performance more impressive than Vince's?. After all, he did do it against a better defense.
