Welcome to your Texans survivior pool!

Pick a single team each week. If the team wins you survive to pick again the next week. If the team loses or ties, you are eliminated from the pool. (Exception: if all teams picked that week lose, every player who picked that week continues on to the next week). No team can be picked more than once over the course of the season. You are welcome to sign up by posting your week one team. This is being posted early for maximum participation.

Hervoyel has agreed to donate a DVD copy of the first game victory over the Dallas Cowboys to the winner. One winner only and we will come up with a tiebreaker forumla if there are multiple survivors. Feel free to ask any questions, and good luck!

I think the Pats winning streak will end .....my guess is that will end no later than week 8 when they play in Pittsburgh. Before that they're on the road to the Bills and Jets, at home to Miami and Seahawks....week 3 is their bye week.

Blake
09-15-2004, 12:53 PM
Arizona.

OLB Raynoch Thompson Knee DOUBTFUL
DB Dexter Jackson Back I-R. Out for the season
RB James Hodgins Shoulder I-R. Out for the season
RB Marcel Shipp Ankle I-R. Out for the season
WR Anquan Boldin Knee OUT- Out until mid-October

This is the safest bet in NFL history. The pats look strong. They are clicking on offense. And their D is solid. The only thing against them is they will be in AZ.

But since this game is about fun, im going to switch my name over to the New Orleans Saints. Final answer.

Porky

This just gets harder every week. No locks this week for me. But, I am confident the Seahawks will rebound, so I will take the boys in Seattle to take care of the Panthers.

V Man
10-29-2004, 03:37 PM
I'll take the Seahawks also

I haven't been checking in here much over the past couple of weeks but it looks like we're down to 5? Is that correct? I think I better get started making those DVD's.

WWJD

Giants look like a good pick to me too.

San Diego, please. Side note--- I like the Texans to upset Denver, but don't have the guts to take them.

I also think the Giants are a good pick this week.

Porky
11-04-2004, 04:06 PM
Well, I hate to go with the crowd, because if the Giants lose, it's all over, but I just think they are the safest play for me this week. So, I will take the Big Boys against the Fuzzy animals.

jgl35
11-04-2004, 10:38 PM
You guys will be all right. Woops, Tiki--5 fumbles, Warner thinks he is back in St. Louis, and Shochey is over in the city in a club and forgets it's not the open week. The Saints D will somehow turn into Balt's Sunday and kill me, so we will all go together.

Stupid Giants.

Porky
11-07-2004, 08:25 PM
Thanks jgl35! I came extremely close to picking the Chargers. They were my #2 pick. I thought the Giants were a lock, but as we all know, there is no such thing. Congrats to Jgl35!!!

11-07-2004, 09:27 PM
You are welcome, Porky. Best of luck to all you guys. Really knowledgeable competion. I feel fortunate to win. If no one minds, I would like to stick around to the end and make picks to see how far I can go. Glad none of you took the Eagles this week. I saw that coming, including the score. Can't stop the run.

Congrats jgl.

I am with Porky and WWJD, I almost went with the Chargers, and like they say almost only counts in horseshoes and hand gernades. Also never trust the Giants, nice choke job.

Chiefs please.

11-08-2004, 04:13 PM
Guys, I know the G-men like you guys know Tenn. They have a history of playing down to a poor team out of the division. With the Bears and Ariz. back to back I looked for a lose someplace. I thought it would be next week away at Ariz. Think back, the Texans beat them in your FIRST year.

gwallaia
11-08-2004, 04:37 PM
I'll go with the Jaguars

Porky
11-12-2004, 02:41 PM
Well, I wasn't going to take Pitt, as I saw the Browns as a trap game, but after Warren's statements, I will go ahead and take Pittsburgh over the Brownies.

jgl35
11-12-2004, 04:52 PM
Texans, please. As an outsider, this is not a heart pick. Texans can take control of division. I think they are ready. Won in KC, TENN, flat game last week is over and done. Colts have no def. coming off a short week.AJ has a BIG game.

Not one of them have picked the Texans? :hmmm:

How do you think we made it this far? :evilb:

And, I'm not going with the Texans this week either!

I will take Detroit over Arizona. I'm running out of teams, so if I don't win soon, I'll have to take the Texans.

Porky,

Your hopes of winning this contest hinge on the Cowgirls winning tonight. :hmmm:

Congratualtions to Porky! :bouncey:

The Seahawks lost a thrilling game last night to put Porky over the top.
* although that was not really a TD by Keyshawn there in the 4th qt.

The hailmary pass bounced off the facemask of one of the Seahawk receivers as time expired. An exciting end to this survivor game.

VMan, sorry to see you drop this one. Maybe next year. :thud:

Way to go, Porky. And to all you guys, great contest. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

V Man

I protest Porky's win, it was rigged. There must have been a payoff to give Keyshawn that touchdown and not review it. j/k

congrats on your win Porky, you earned it. :jumpbanan

Congrats Porky

Send your address in a PM to Herv. He will hook you up with the Texans DVD.

Thanks to everyone for playing. You guys nearly made it through the entire year.

I done did it. I would like to publicy thank Hervoyel for providing the prize. That is very nice of a "stranger" to provide a prize like that. I would have done it for fun! Herv is consisently one of my favorite writers, and provides alot of unique, and level headed commentary. Thanks go to Herv, the other contestants were were very tough, and Vinny for helping to get this started.

Merry Christmas,

Mark aka Porky
