I don't do lists often, but what the heck

DE - Mario Williams, Babin
DT - Robaire Smith, Travis Johnson

OLB - Greenwood, Wong
MLB - Levar Arrington

CB - Robinson, Buchanon
S - Brown, Earl

Probably why I do not do lists. :) Arrington at OLB and Wong to MLB. I believe Kailee played MLB with the Vikings.

I see it a little differently:

DE - Mario Williams, Babin
DT - Robaire Smith, Travis Johnson

OLB - Greenwood, Orr
MLB - Wong

CB - Robinson, Buchanon
S - Hope, Earl

At least that's wishful thinking.

I am assuming that Peek would be used as a situational pass rushing OLB/DE?

I want Peek back. If he reviews the film I believe he would see that he does need to earn a starting position again. It is my opinon that Babin is ahead at this point.

Kaiser nice look big time move with Mario Williams who is the best player in this draft possibly. I do have to disagree with Babin being over Peek right now. "Something" gives me the feeling that Smith likes Peek over Babin at this moment, and feels at 255 he can handle the everydown weakside DE. Peek is a playmaker who should concentrate on killing the man with the ball, past that he should not have to think. One thing I would change is in your lineup is Buchanon. I think he has the talent to start, but if we draft Jonathan Joseph I think he will get beaten out for the nod.

DE= Mario Williams SDE, Antwaan Peek WDE
DT= Seth Payne 2gap, Robaire Smith 1 gap
MLB= Kailee Wong, but he wont be ready for a while so Rookie or FA possibly Polk or Evans, would love Rocky McIntosh here, but he will be gone mid second
OLB= Shantee Orr SOLB, Morlon Greenwood WOLB
CB= Dunta Robinson, Jonathan Joseph, Phillip Buchanon, Chris McKenzie
FS= FA(Chris Hope), more likely CC Brown
SS= Glen Earl

Wouldn't you want to have Payne or Gary Walker next to Robaire Smith to keep the heavier guys to the middle and have Babin and Travis Johnson to the outside for left 2 right roll off, pass rush and pursuit?

I think I still want to see Antwan Peek standing up but if not he should be ok at the end. The thing is if they keep Shantee Orr, would you put them on the same side say Antwan at end and Orr OLB to make a "strong side"? Or put them opposite sides to balance what will hopefully be constant pressure?

DT=TJ, SMITH
DE=ABRAHAM, BABIN
MLB=HAWK
OLB=PEEK, ORR
CB=ROBINSON,(FAGGINS/PBUC)
SAFETIES=WOODSON, EARL

I dont like Babin at OLB. My opinion, but it seems like he is always out of position, he cant cover the pass very well, and he is horrible about making snap decisions. I did watch him in the 3 point stance and he has above average explosiveness off the ball and some pass rush moves that may warrent giving up your first day draft. Lets try not to ruin another kids carrear by putting him into a position where he is set up for failure.

Abraham. Need I say it?

Hawk could very well be the second coming of Urlacher.

Peek and Orr, strong fast strong, motors are always running and both have a nose for the football and the QB.

Robinson. Hope he gets his head out of the clouds after the performance he turned in last year. I know, I know. I like Robinson too. He has got a knock out blow and plays with heart, but when he was rolled over to the other teams best receiver he was lit up like my grandmother at Christmas. I think PBuc should be challenged by Faggins for the starting job.

Woodson when healthy is the best safety in football and may be worth the gamble but not for 10M a year. Earl is another lights out hitter. If he could only learn how to cover, that would be splendid.

Smith is big and solid and not afraid to get his nose roughed up. Good run stopper. TJ. Not one question about TJ was answered last year. I would almost rather start Payne over TJ if TJ wasent a first round pick.

If I had my way I would cut Greenwood and Wong. That is a lot of money sitting there to be second stringers. But then again that is just my opinion.

I am a big fan of Wong's, and unfortunately I missed his interview on 610. How is his knee coming along???

At least what I heard about his injury right after it happened, it seems like it would be ambitious for him to be coming back and playing well at all this season.

At least what I heard about his injury right after it happened, it seems like it would be ambitious for him to be coming back and playing well at all this season.

Wong had two surgeries in the last five months. The first surgery, which he had immediately after the injury at Seattle in October, was to repair a torn patella tendon. Rehab from that injury (unlike ACL surgery which requires motion for rehab) required immobilization of the knee. After about ten weeks of rehab from that injury, he had another surgery in the first week of January to repair the ACL.

'Normal' NFL recoup time for an ACL is 9 months at best. Consider both surgeries and rehab, sprinkle in $3.1 on the cap this year, then do the math. Early January plus nine months = early October.

We need a middle linebacker and DaShon Polk is nothing more than a nice backup.

Kidding about what. Wong did play some MLB at Minnesota. He had a serious injury last year so I dont see why one of the top ranked MLB in this draft couldnt beat him out for the starting spot. Which leaves wong and greenwood to compete for the last OLB spot.

Buchanon will stay because he is relatively cheap under the cap. Probably not as cheap as an elementary school walk on. :)

I am guessing that Hoke was the guy who really wanted him to begin with, so maybe if he stays, Hoke thinks that there is something there. (I do know that at least under Capers, the position coaches had a lot of say as to what guys they really wanted).

And to be fair, I don't care who you have in the secondary, if your guys up front are getting no pass rush AND can't defend against the run, your secondary is gonna look nongood. And given the choice between throwing to Dunta or Buchanon, he was just gonna get a bunch of balls thrown his way. And he was supposed to play the coverage that was called, even if that meant being pretty far off the guy he was covering.

I am not a Buchanon apologist, but as it is easier to replace coaches versus players, I have to say I am a little intrigued to see what he could do under a more sensible defensive system. Texans have a lot of needs, and are probably not likely to take a baby CB in the draft.

I can garuntee you one thing ... If Wongs performance is changed that dramatically by the injury & subsequent surgery then he will not even be a factor on the roster much less a starter. Kinda makes it a moot point, huh?

I assume you are talking about Charles Woodson. He's a corner and not worth $1 million in my opinion. I don't know if he has the ability to move to safety. It's possible, but he's represented by Tweedledee and Tweedledum (Poston brothers) which makes him worth less than P-Buc in my book.

I don't think either Faggins or Buchanon did anything to earn a starting job. Faggins has shown he's a good nickel, but he's not an NFL starting CB. They need to draft someone or find a free agent.

Chill out young'n, you're the one that crunk this thing up by sayin' some snot-nosed rookie could come in here his 1st year & take the MLB spot from Wong. Like I said before, maybe I'm wong but with the current talent pool out there I just don't see that happening. IMO the last MLB to come out of that caliber woulda been John Vilma (DROTY thief).

I think Payne stays another year and starts over Johnson (at least for 1 more year). We should be drafting a DE but if we don't going after someone in FA would be nice. I like Trever Pryce but Courtney Brown is probably more our speed at this point. At CB they should make Buchanon the nickel and go after Ahmad Plummer or Andre Dyson. :stirpot:

If we were to make a serious run at an Offensive Lineman in FA (Bentley) then Mario could be taken with our first pick and take the best OL with the first pick in the second round. This would greatly improve our line and improve another area of glaring need, DE.

Well, aside from getting a lot of money (as previous posters mentioned,) I think that one of the major reasons why Arrington would consider coming here is b/c of playing time.

Think about it...one of the main reasons why he wanted out of Washington is b/c he wasn't getting PT. He would instantly be our best LB and definately get a LOT of PT.:twocents:

You're thinking of Darren Woodson. He hasn't played in 2 years after herniating a disk in his neck. I think Parcells was thinking of using him if they got into the playoffs this year, but he's since announced his retirement.
