I forgot that all 14 losses lie squarely on the sholders of Domanick Davis, including the 5 he didn't play in. Don't forget to neglect the fact that our running game ranked 15th overall while our Offense ranked 30th and Defense ranked 31st. Its not a crime to want Houston to draft a certain guy, but please GET A REAL REASON FOR IT!!

Exactly. I don't want Bush by a long shot, but dont mind it at all when people think of good reasons for wanting to take him. Its just annoying when people think of illogical, bogus reasons for it.

Ok, here's some real reason's. At the #1 position he is cheaper than QB, but has a greater impact on the team than a lineman. Most teams now have a RB tandem, Bush is used to working in tandem with someone else so ego problems wouldn't be a huge factor with DD or any of the RB unit here in H-town. (Except maybe Morrency.) Of all the running backs we have none of them are burners, Hollings was close to it, but I don't think he should be considered unless he proves himself this coming preseason. Also, with Bush sharing the load with DD, DD would be at a less probable injury waiting to happen. The reasons keep going, what are the real drawbacks to not draft Bush? I can't really think of any.

Not a lot of people know this, but Domanick Davis called all of the plays, he coached the offensive line, he advised david carr to ease up on the talent a bit, he forcibly removed brain cells from our defensive unit, and he told brad pitt it was okay to cheat on jenn.

I was wondering when you'd pipe up again... I haven't seen you post in a while...
IMO, you have few to no valid points, but you do get brownie points for being known... almost infamous if it makes you feel better...
By now, your points have become as cliche as 'taking things day by day', giving our best effort, and lord willing things will work out"... etc...
We know that you think DD sucks... In an effort to be fair, I will go back and review your previous threads to see if you have anything valid to say...
until then i say...

DD is just fine as a Rb for the Texans however I wouldn't mind trading him if we get something good out of it and Bush in the draft. I believe on another thread I started saying a team like Arizona would be the best fit for him.

i hate when someone watches espn once and think they know everything. Or when everyone's opinion depends on what mel kiper says on the 6 o clock edition of sports center.

Watch the game, see for yourself.

You watch Texans games... our passing offense never can get going because carr is always on the run and never has much time- HOWEVER when he does have time you can see glimpses of playmaking ability. Even when he is on the run he can scramble better than any other qb in the league, aside from Vick and maybe McNabb.

The Texans offensive line in the offseason wanted to "slender" down to try and become more a more agile offensive line... yeah... that obviously worked. Chris Palmer, just look at his play calling ability, and obviously you can realize he doenst know crap about running an offense.

The biggest problem is our offensive line and the coaches that created it. I am not saying trade down and draft offensive linemen... there are other linemen who will be free agents...or we can trade for that are already proven and we won't have to wait a few years until they develop (eg robert gallery, ogden took a few years, as did pace... etc.).

Our Defense is fine... I play high school football and if you have a crappy offense, or a offense that doesnt have TOP (time of possesion) and turns the ball over a lot, it makes the job on the defense almost impossible.

Everything starts with an offensive line, trade/sign some offensive linemen and draft a few.

But still pickup that LT clone from usc, hes a playmaker...and we need one.

Yeah, lay off the crack and pick up a book on common sense.

Is that what you were expecting from those that had something to say to you? Or can you prove that Davis was the reason the team went 2-14?

If not, then whatever.

this is a joke. houston went 2-14 because they had no freakin O-line. don't take shots at davis, you can't blame one man for an entire unit's failure. it would be more of the same for reggie if they don't improve the o-line if he gets drafted. :challenge

The reasons keep going, what are the real drawbacks to not draft Bush? I can't really think of any.

Lets count...
Hasnt proven that he can be any everydown back.
He will not fill a need
UT neutralized him by forcing USC to run up the middle rather than give up big outside plays, this will happen in the NFL no matter what team he plays for.
Will not give us the options of picking up more picks.
Forces us to wait until the 3rd round to draft defense.
We miss out on possibly the best OT to come out since Pace, Ogden, fill in your HOF LT here.

I think that thats enough for me.

1. Got enough carries to score often on long runs.(TDs) I would much rather him score 5 times quickly and sit down the rest of the game.(quanity vs. quality)
2.Good players are a Need.
3. UT FOCUSED on stopping the outside runs and White looked like a HOF'er because of it.
4. More picks are not always better.(quanity vs. quality)
5. Free Agency? We need some veteran Leadership on that side.
6. I didn't see any HOF's coming out this year.(psst....they are all ROOKIES).

1. Niether has DD

UT didnt exactly neutralize him. Pete Carroll helped a little with that and if you consider 82 yards rushing with one TD and 95 yards WR being neutralized then i guess DD has never had a good game.

We could draft defense in the second round and still get good oline in the 3rd round.

Last we could miss our on possibly the best RB since Ricky Williams, LT.

We've had that mentality the last 4 years. Unfortunatly, it never comes to be. Adrian Peterson will be a better RB, and next year, regardless of who we take this year, will be the new flavor of the offseason.

Blah Blah Blah. Like I said he did not get to the outside because of the defense UT ran. Earth to texplayer2, every NFL team will focus on stopping Bush from getting to the outside, and they have faster players. Until he shows that he can pound it up the middle, any NFL team we face will do their best to secure the edge. Just like UT did in the National Championship.

How many quality OTs, TE's, LB's have you read about in the FA market that are any better than the ones we have now?

I compared Ferguson to a couple of HOFers, I didnt call him one.

This is a very deep draft at a few positions and picking with 2 early second rounders may be tehe same as picking with 2 late 1st rounders in any other draft.

Bush may be the next coming of LT, but guess what the Chargers didnt make it to the playoffs either althought they had a pro-bowl TE, last years comeback player of the year, a solid O-line, and a the DROY. One player cant make a team.

Think NFL not college. Yeah he had 82 yards and 95 yards against a college defense DD has been able to run and receive against NFL defenses, so really you would be using the first overall pick for 15 more yards rushing and 10 more yards receiving a game. Dont forget that D is also a great target out of the backfield and has always been a huge contributor in the passing game. He is always capacble of putting up about 100 yards rushing and 50 yards receiving.

If we were to draft a third round OT he would not start, and if we were to draft a 3rd round OG/OC I doubt he would be much of an upgrade over our current starters, with the exeption of Eslinger.

i wasnt bashing anyone, i am just saying analyze something other than what the opinion of espn is that night. watch the games...if you watch the texans game you do know domanick davis has talent, as does david carr, the offensive line hinders their ability to make plays.
