Omar Jacobs QB Bowling Green has declared for the NFL Draft. He is already a better passer than VY and he runs about as well. How about we draft him instead. The guy put up 4000+ yds and 40+tds to only 4 interceptions last year and this year he had a very good season. He has proven for two years that he is a good QB. So if we want to take a running, passing, and excellent leader take this guy. Now likely he will go in the second round and be a big time guy similar to Donovan McNabb.

Omar Jacobs is a freak. Once he goes to the combine his name should be right up there with Young and Leinart. It will be like the 2004 draft all over again with Manning, Rivers, Rothleisberger, and Losman. Except this time it will be Leinart, Young, Cutler, and Jacobs.

I have not seen him myself. But a pending 3yr, 8 mil extension for Carr does not bode well for a high pick of a rookie QB.

Omar Jacobs=Donvan McNabb one of the best comparisons I have seen on this board. The guy is a gamer, better than VY, and in the second round Arizona will enjoy him. If they decide to trade up with us then another team will get a great QB out of Jacobs.

After reading the article about Kubiak today in the Chronicle and the article by Lopez, sounds like all of VY talk is moot because Kubiak realy likes Carr and a lot of coaching candidates will want to win right now rather than take on a project.

But Omar is the real deal and will make the first round more interesting. I think that is good because the more elite QB's that declare mean that fewer teams are going to pick linemen, which means that at 33, we could get a pretty good one.

a little OT, but did the Niners have the absolute worst luck in the year they had the #1 pick? A year later they would have had the pick of the litter.

Where did Omar Jacobs finish in the Heisman voting? Surely, he placed in AP All-American team right? Omar Jacobs is good i'll give you that. Better than Vince, I don't think so. That's just my opinion though.

I saw him early in the season, he seems like a good leader, always having his offense try to come back as they were down by few points. He seems like he could have a Matt Jones-like rise on draft boards. Like Vince, he has to work on his release, but he would force plays. In a half full glass view, he has a slinger's mentality. He would fit into a system like Kubiak's.

I know what you are saying, but Matt Jones was to be more of a WR then QB. Perhaps Ware is a better comparison. He had an awesome combine then shot up(in his natural position) from 3rd to high first.

Speaking of rises and falls, I would love to see Leinhart get the Aaron Rodgers Experience.

No need for a throw off, Omar wins that one hands down! Omar has the running ability that VY has, but runs the ball more like a RB, not like Yao!

OJ threw for 41 tds 4 ints and 4000 yrds in 04, he had 2600 yrds with 26 TDs vs 7ints this year.... 65% completion % as well over his 3 years. 71 tds vs 11 ints over his 3 years as well!

The reason he did not get any accolades this year or especially last year, is because he plays in the MAC, not a BCS conf. The Heisman voters only see the BCS confs as THE confs for a heisman winner. In the past 40 years of the Heisman, only 2 players have won it from a Non-BCS school.....Ty Detmer in 1990 (BYU) and Andre Ware 1989 (University of Houston).

Detmer had to throw for almost 5200 yards and 41 tds.
Andre Ware threw for 4300 yrds and 44 TDs, and beat UT 47-9!

That's not the only thing Detmer and Ware have in common.

Neither amounted to squat in the NFL.

He's nothing to joke about. I went to two of bowling greens game since one of my friends is a future OL their and we were both blown away at this kids abilities. He's the real deal. I would love for Arizona to manage to get DeAngelo Williams + Omar Jacobs. that would really turn arizona into a super bowl contender.

THAT would be a scary offense.
