We better win this challenge.

Fiddy

It's gonna get overturned.

The ball hit the Texans player first which means that the recieving team can try to pick up the ball and advance it without losing the ball on a fumble...

I don't see how we can't win this challenge. A colts player touched it at some point in the play anyway.

Ibar...you aren't watching the game....you seem to have no clue to what is going on. We weren't in a punt formation.

I was referring to the other gentleman's comments. I didn't say we weren't. I was commenting why you should at this juncture. After the McKinney blooper we had to kick and we got a break.

But the other team then touched it again, making it a fumble that we can recover.

Go Texans!

But the other team then touched it again, making it a fumble that we can recover. No, the refs missed the call. It touched us so now the recieving team, the Colts, can now try to pick up the ball and advance it and they cannot turn it over on a fumble if they never have possesion....

Gimme a break dude. Yeah, they WILL kill us, but I just find something a little too 'put the knife in' about it. Yeah I know Dom would never be that cuthroat, but i dunno. Why challenge such a blatantly muffed fumble recovery? But thanks for correcting me.

Now lets think a head. We get the ball at the start of the 2nd half. What should we do here? Try to use all of our time outs and score. Hold the Colts and try to get another 7 at the start of the 2nd half and make it a 7 point game. At least that's what I would hope we would do............

It's typical Manning and Colts thing. They are bad sports. Run up the score, throw a deep ball when you are up by 20. They are a real embarrasment to the game.

Wha...?

Run the score up in the NFL??

Dude, play to win until it's over. It's a killer instinct that championship caliber teams have and choke teams do not have.

Is it important to win by 30, or to get a W in the win column?

Scoreboard (wins/losses) is all that matters.

But when you've been a fan of a team that blew a 35-3 lead in the playoffs, maybe you'd understand that NO lead is safe until the clock strikes 0:00.

You're down by 14 against the Colts, and you run little dinky draws and passes in the final minute of the first half. We're playing not to be blown out at this point, not even to keep it close.

ensign_lee
11-13-2005, 02:37 PM
Not as bad as that dumpoff to end the half. I'd almost rather see Carr get sacked as he waits to hit a receiver downfield.

Although I would have MUCH preferred that he actually HIT a receiver downfield...for a score, maybe? :P

I don't know, but a couple times I saw Freeny getting triple-teamed and Mathis getting double-teamed (yes, 8 guys pass protecting) which explains why Carr can't find anyone open...he only has 2 WR's who are being covered by the other 7 Colts defenders...:D

So, the protection is there, but it's costing you in open receivers...

They left 2 timeouts on the board and don't even try to get into field goal territory. That's not the QB's fault that is simply F.... coaching and there is no other way to put it. I mean these guys have no idea what they are doing. Almost everyone on this board has to be throwing up watching this debacle. We finally put ourselves into a position to do some damage and the defense gives us the hold we need, and we do nothing. You play till the whistle blows and the game is over. You try to make first downs and score. That's their job.

Play some defense and you don't have to worry about the other team running up the score because it won't happen. If the Texans are ever up by 20 are they suppose to just stop trying to get first downs? Stop trying to score?

So if you're winning and trying to run the clock, do you run 3 plays with a RB up the middle when they are stacking the line? No. All year when we want to move the ball we take what the defense gives us. If you want to stack the line, we'll pass the ball instead of just giving the ball back if we know we can't run for the first down...

What would be more classy? Should we fair catch a punt and then just punt it back? What about having Manning take the snap, run back to our 1 yard line, and leaving the ball there for defenders to pick up and run in for a TD?

Sadly, the Colts are doing what they haven't done all year.

I have Manning, Wayne, and Stokley in my fantasy. ALL years, Colts have managed to win with James being the hero.

We're in trouble if the Colts keep throwing it.

(last year, Wayne, Stokley, and *brain fart* each had 10 TD's on the year)Too bad they can't play the Texans every week huh? :challenge
