ROFL... you folks SLAY me... Wells makes a TD with a good effort and a great strech and nothing about him is said...

Not looking for Wells to play well, we are looking for out team to play well. But if you need some good vibes, Wells is playing terrific.

our d is playing like it eas at the end of last season (13 quarters without allowing a TD). Hopefully they can hold the Jags down and get the offense back on the field with a lead. just 15 minutes away from a winning streak!!!

utahmark
11-06-2005, 02:16 PM
anyone realize that was the first time we have scored 2 TD's in one game?

PS- why is coleman on the field right now?

first time our offense has scored twice. scored two last year with the kick return.

I didn't even know they'd tried that.

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacksonville_Jaguars)

City leaders also attempted to get the Houston Oilers to move to Jacksonville at one point in the late 1980's.

Hence the reason we spent $60mm on Dome renovations that we are still paying off today.

ROFL... you folks SLAY me... Wells makes a TD with a good effort and a great strech and nothing about him is said... Probably because he wasn't touched till he got near the goal line. Great blocking...especially by Norris who blew up two men. Nice stretch though.

I am just miffed because he catches crap all the time and with the new Zone blocking, I have been saying he has more abilities with it. Everyone till today hasnt seen him using it till now. Now when he starts to prove it. People drop into silence about him. Thanks

So if the other teams crowd is booing does that give us homefield advantage kinda like when our fans are booing and the other team pummels us? Nope, no advantage, just refreshing to hear. Maybe their fans will whine about their "classless" fans booing lousy calls on THEIR boards.

If Bradford catches that we have 30 seconds to move like 10 yards. If Carr makes the throw to AJ he more than likely is tackled in the middle of the field and we have 30 seconds to move 30 yards with no time outs. Carr made the gutsy decision, he made the perfect pass into difficult coverage, and Bradford drops the ball. Carr wasn't perfect today, but he played well. Our defense let the Jaguars score on two crucial drives. I think our defense just didn't make the plays today when we needed them to. If Payne doesn't get called for defensive holding, or if Bradford makes that catch, things could've turned out differently. Also, the play of our offensive line before Hodgdon was injured gives me some hope for next week.

Vinny, I think you're wrong here, sorry to say. If Bradford had made the catch, people would be saying congratulations. Bradford had a step, the safety came over late. It wasn't really double coverage. Bradford should have caught that. Johnson was right over the middle. If he hadnt been able to make it out of bounds, we would be on the 40 something with about 25 seconds left. Not a good situation. It was Carr's decision, he made a good one, and his team let him down. Bashing him for not getting the 7 yard gain is showing some poor football knowledge.

Perfectly said.

Had that throw been completed Carr would have been a hero, and many would have said the right call was made because there wasn't enough time to throw it over the middle for a short completion.

But it wasn't caught, Carr is a scapegoat, and Bradford is just Bradford.

Defense didn't play well enough IMO. Wilford really did a number on us today. Most of our games with the jags have been won by us playing great defense. It just wasn't good enough today.

And Bradford needs to make that catch. It doesn't matter how well you play through the whole game, it's all about making plays when you have to. It never seems that we are very good at that. I don't care how well you play 58 minutes of the game, if you can't make a play on the last 2, you can't be a winning football team.

We were throwing hitches and curls towards the sideline. You spike the ball after the AJ first down and then you do what you have done all game but instead of fighting for extra yards, the WRs need to get out of bounds.

And if Carr did throw to AJ, AJ wouldnt have been tackled and could have ran out of bounds...

Except of course our receivers were NOT getting out of bounds on the last drive, we had nervous lineman false starting and holding, and we never win with the keep it close and don't take any chances philosophy of Capers. You really think we would be able to matriculate the ball 30 more yards downfield in 30 seconds for the touchdown? Have we ever done that?
The bottom line is Carr saw an opportunity to win the game and put a superb pass in Bradford's hands. Bradford drops it and it is somehow Carr's fault.

And I'm no Carr apologist, he has lots of problems with his game... but that pass was not one of them.

I can't believe people are ripping Carr for the pass at the end of the game. He made a perfect pass into the hands of Bradford and the pass was dropped. The ball landed in his hands, he started bringing it into his body, and then he let the ball get away.

It was a perfect throw. End of story.

I can't believe people are ripping Carr for the pass at the end of the game.

Same here, it's unbelieveable. All the people saying that he should have thrown to AJ, are speaking purely on hindsight. As if they could have stepped in and done better. Was AJ open? Yes. Could Carr have hit AJ for a big gain? Possibly. Does any of that mean that Carr throwing to Bradford was wrong? No. Even if AJ and every other WR was open, Bradford was open too. Great throw, horrible drop.

im actually happy to see Carr going for the win. Id rather have that aggressive style of football. It was his best option (bradford being open)...bradford had it BUT dropped it. Carr in my opinion played his best game of the year. The line even looked good (before Hodgen got injured).

DD not being there was a small factor in this game in my opinion.

The big factor was us NOT having Mathis. If we had Mathis, we had this game.

It is amazing what having AJ did for us in the passing game today. It opened lots of stuff up. When can you honestly say youve seen this much passing from the texans. Besides audibles, I actually didnt know what play they were going to run.

Good job today Texans. P.S. Thanks for beating the spread - you made me money two weeks in a row!
