Yeah I have said it from the beginning fire capers and his whole staff. I have also said get rid of Carr, at least bench him. There have been many of you who said I was nuts when I said this during the preseason. What are you saying now? Until the texans get their head out of their *** and play like something other then jv jr high football I am putting away all my Texans gear. I have had it with all the immature playing. I have had it with posters that keep saying that we will pull it thru. When we are the laughing stock of the entire league how in the hell do you expect this team to pull anything off other then their helmets. No Guts No Glory. No Coach No Team, keep the two or three players that might still give a **** and send the rest packing with the coaches and forfeit the rest of the year. Might as well we are going to lose the rest of the games anyway :goodnight

Boycott the coaches, NOT the team.

I'll sit through every excrutiating second of every game, regardless of how bad it gets. Part of being a fanatic is staying with the team through good times and bad times.

It won't be like this forever. That, I believe. :thumbup

boycotting isn't an answer. I bet Carr and a few others would like to boycott also. Or at the very least play with a sack over their heads. The squeaky wheel is the one that gets the attention - the wheel that falls off is just replaced.

We thought you left. . . Did you want us to talk to ourselves?

I don't think being a fair weather fan is the answer. I, along with many other Texans fan, sat in that stadium last night, till the clock hit 0:00. Why? To support our team. It didn't matter what was going on, how bad the game was, or what was being said or thrown, or even shown at and to us lol.

We are fans....simple as that.

The Texans have a way of playing tough against tough teams, so Sunday's game could be a relief of what has happened over the past weeks. Let's hope so anyway. No boycotting here, and since I missed the game against the Titans, I look forward to retuning to Reliant and seeing the Texans give the Colts a run for their money. This too, shall pass! That could take a coaching change, though.

A true fan on boycottTrue fans don't boycott bad teams. Every team has lean years and there is no team that escapes them (we just didn't think they would be here by year 4 though). Also, every team has 'true fans".....those are the fans that don't walk away or boycott the team however. The 'true fans' take the good with the bad and support the team thru the lean times....and we will see more of them. Good fans take the bad with the good. It's the bandwagon types that only want to take the good and write off the rest.

I am still a fan. I will ALWAYS be a fan. I just don't think this current team has the heart that past Texans teams have had. In years past, I could always count on a gutsy, if not winning, effort on the part of our team. I do not see this character on our team anymore. I think there are players who exemplify what a Texan should be, but their heart is overshadowed by the pathetic performances of others. I will be happy for a regime change at the end of the year. But I still root for my TEXANS to win every week. I don't want to lose, just to get the coach fired. I hope that McNair has figured out we need changes already and anything we do the rest of the year is done "in spite of" our HC/GM, not "because of".

The team is now 0-5. They are demolized. They are crushed. Since you are a fan (or at least saying it here), how do you think posts like 'fire capers club' is going to help the players. Your not happy... Hello, I dont think ANYONE is happy here, but we cant focus how bad we are doing and whos doing it, we should be focusing on how to change things with what and who we got. Now your telling the team they dont have the heart they had. With the comments i have seen from you and MANY others.. would you.. be honest, would you.

Honestly folks, I am not happy with David Carr, but he has the gull to stick in a pocket that is collapsing to make a play. Thats guts folks. They are trying. They are working at getting better. Please let them work and give them support. They hear enough crap from everyone else, let not make it from thier fans too.

Things really suck right now but I am glad to see so many fans staying supportive. I almost didn't read this post but after seeing the responses I am glad I did. Sports are like anything else, there is a cyclical nature and unfortunately we are in a downturn right now. There will always be that team that just can't win and nothing seems to go right and it just happens to be us at the moment. Nothing the fans say can really change anything-*****ing, whining and armchair coaching isn't gonna make it better. Expressing opinions is important but going as far as "boycotting" is rediculous-what will the Texans ever do without this guys support? The coaching staff is one thing but I feel like it is important to show support for the players no matter what. I am sure they aren't thrilled about how things are right now-anyone who has ever played sports knows that when you lose you are hard enough on yourself. I'm here all the way W or L!

I'm sorry. Once again, if you criticize your team that does not make you disloyal. I want the best from my team and I expect 100% effort. I have not seen 100% effort the entire year. This "never criticize your team" crap is on the same level as Capers' saying, "We need to execute" (NO ******* Sherlock!).

Do you honestly think P-Burnt is giving his best effort? Should we get rid of Dunta because he said this team has no heart???? I want to smoke whatever you are smoking. I guess it will make me a "better" fan.

Your right.. it would make you a better fan. If Dunta says it, he is part fo the team and trying to get the team movated. If you say it, your a bench holder and expect the world. You speak to other fans.. He speaks to the team. If you cant figure that one out, then someone needs to visit college again. If P-Buc is giving his best effort, then he has a lot to learn. If he isnt, then shame on him to think he is better then he is. But do you really think he cares what you think? Hell, I dont. He dont care what I have to think either, but at least if I try to remain positive, then that will hopefully carry over to the team that we still are behind them.

I've never missed a game, but i will miss one of the next two games for the first time ever. It's just not worth traveling 120 miles to see such a pathetic display by the home team. When i miss this game, i will listen on the radio, while fishing with the family. I'll take a good fishing trip with family over a poor texan team any day.

Do you honestly think P-Burnt is giving his best effort?

Yes, which is why we should not have acquired him to be our #2 CB.

As for boycotting, dropping out on the team doesn't speak well of you as a fan. If you want to boycott something, boycott concessions or merchandise purchases. Personally, I have spent about 10% of my gross salary this year on season tickets and trimmings. I won't spend another dime, with the product I've been sold, but I'll be there every home game, yelling for the players. If a 12th man can make a difference, I'll be part of it. That's what fans are supposed to do.

Y'all want to boycott something? Let's get fans together, nation wide, and boycott the highway robbery that goes on in these stadiums! $7 per beer? $5 for a coke, $7 for a freakin' baked potatoe? I can't believe they actually went UP on prices this year. This is what we should be boycotting.

Rise in fuel, I'm sure had something to do w/it. How else do they get the merchandise to the stadiums? Not someone on a mtn. bike. or walking.

So instead of a $4.80 profit on each Coke, it's down to $4.50 or something.

You got that right Vinny. I know I supported the Oilers through some really lean years. It will be no different with these Texans. The sad thing with this team compared to some other bad teams is that the Texans have no hope right now with this current coaching staff. I think they are the worst looking nfl team I have seen take the field. The longer this coaching staff stays the farther this team is set back. I hate to say it but I was right about Capers and his 5 year plan. I doubt he will ever be offered another head coaching job in the nfl. Maybe a dc but not hc.

[QUOTE=Great One]Dunta said it to the media, he didn't say it to his teammates. If he doesn't care what you think, how the hell is it going to carry over to the team? You are just trying to be a naysayer to the naysayers. That's going to accomplish a lot.[QUOTE]

And you are? First you call me a drug addict, then a naysayer.. Next, I am going to be the one for the kennedy killings. Do you have a problem with speaking without calling people names, or you feel so little of yourself, that you need to vent on us, the true fans, to feel better about yourself?

Wow. Lets try something original. Try speaking without name calling. Good. Now, There are enough people here to speak against the coachs, or team, or whoever. They need to improve. We all know that. So if we all know it, then why say it. Listening to you say it means nothing. The best thing you can do is speak of solutions with the personnel we have available. You have to work with what you got. If you dont like the personnel, then offer a solution instead of bashing the team/coaches and being generally a troll.

Sorry, Vinny that is a diraguartory statement. You and others have made the same statement of me and I don't even smoke cigaretes nor no I drink. The only drugs I take are medication when necessary and I'm even a reluctant taker of that. I think those kinds of statements are uncalled for from posters on this site including statements of the like saying the coaches are on similar things. I may not like Capers and his staff, but those hinge on what I think are real problems from a coaching standpoint.

I am not a troll. You called me out without any good cause. So just leave me alone. You are the troll. The "I want to know what you're smoking" is just a figure of speech. I guess you are defensive for a reason though, "Dime". The solution has been stated by myself and others. We need a coach who is going to demand the best from his players, which is not happening now and we need a GM who will not gather talent solely based on what the head coach says. Read the other threads. I have offered my solutions. Again, this message board is here for the purposes of venting at times. If you don't like it, come back when we are Super Bowl contenders. I have every right to post my disgust with the way things are going. Most will say that a rah-rah everything is groovy type is the last thing this team needs.

By the way, the term "naysayer" is not usually considered "name-calling", so I guess you need to thicken the skin.

This time, you manged to say one thing. The rest was crap and jibberish. It was

"We need a coach who is going to demand the best from his players, which is not happening now and we need a GM who will not gather talent solely based on what the head coach says."

Why is it you feel Capers is not demanding the best from his players? What would you (being in his position) do differently specifically from what he is doing now? Also, is the talent we have aquired that bad, or is it that they are just playing poorly due to the coaching methods?? Or is it a mix of both.

Stuff like this would have to be considered chronic before I'd do anything about it. dat was a funny if anyone gets it. If you think its classless call it classless, but I think if you tell them to "have another drink", or "take another puff", is just another way of saying I think your pov is bonkers. Technically, that's rude too....but unless little stuff like this is used in a stalking manner it's just little stuff.

You quoted me and then said something about boycotting. I have not said anything about boycotting in this thread. So don't quote me and then reference something that I did NOT say.

Umm ... I quoted what you said and then I responded to it. THEN, I used a transitional statement that clearly addressed a different issue, not necessarily raised by you. I even started a new paragraph. I'm sorry that you comprehended it differently.

As for your take on Buchanon, I simply stated that I think he is playing to his talent level. There comes a point where people that continue seeing potential are simply wrong. I had someone look at me in a softball game and tell me that I should be hitting home runs, due to my size. Since I've never even hit a deep fly ball, I'd have to say their evaluation of my potential is off. It's a poor analogy, but you get the idea. I think Buchanon s what he is. And we paid for it.
