View Full Version : Babin Out?

I was reading Houston pro football and this jumped out at me:http://www.houstonprofootball.com/
Has anybody heard about this? What will happen? Will the Texans stay with Orr and the others, sign a FA, or call up somebody from the practice squad?

Hopefully, they'll get Babin's attention, although they haven't gotten anyone else's attention yet. Obviously, there have been a couple of missed selections in the the draft Charlie Casserly and the staff have not picked up on. Unusual for Casserly, who is as good a personnel man as any in the league. Hey, he picked Dom Davis. That pick was steal. However, there have been some bad ones, too. Dunta was probably one of the best players he picked. He's one of the few who have not packed it in already. Pretty much the whole offensive line is a bust, and someone needs to tutor David Carr on the fundamentals of getting rid of the ball quicker. Of course, that's easy for someone to say who's not out there with defensive backs and lineman trying to bury him on every play. There were times today when he didn't have time to look downfield before someone was nailing him. Having been sacked so often, I get the impression that he's gun shy. And I don't blame him for that. Something has to be done to get this group of players(they're not a team at this point) back on track. :fishing: :fishing:

My take....CC listens to much to the coaches and they fall in love with this player or that and convince CC that they have to have him. I suspect that MOST of the over done player selections like Babin & PBuc are a result of pressure from the coaching staff. As a GM you want to give the coaches what they say they need. Usually a coach would say we need this type of player and the GM picks the one that is the best he can find. IMO, where trouble comes in is when the coaches NAME select a player as a must have.
