The game is simple. There are seven player categories - QB, RB, Pass catcher, OL, DL, LB and Secondary and you have $21 or less to spend to create YOUR All-time Houston Texans team.

I chose five players per position and ranked them accordingly. I've also included a short scouting report, just in case all of the young'uns out there need a refresher on some original Texans. I'll play but it's not fun to reflect on how AWFUL the Texans have been.

QUARTERBACK
Sage Rosenfels $3 - Always a guy who could win you (or lose you) a game

PASS-CATCHER
Owen Daniels $4 - It's not Texans football without a TE

RUNNING BACK
Steve Slaton $3 -At his best he did the job pretty well

OFFENSIVE LINE
Chester Pitts $2 - My favourite Texan of all time

DEFENSIVE LINE
JJ Watt $5 - How could you pick anyone else

LINEBACKERS
Jamie Sharper $3 - Great LB who led the early Texans defenses

SECONDARY
Kareem Jackson $1 - has improved year on year and best is yet to come (hopefully)

Quarterback: David Carr $4

I know no one will agree with me, but Carr could've been a pretty good QB if he had been given a decent O'Line. He had a solid arm, good speed, & was tough as nails. My only real complaint was that he thought being a QB in the NFL was a 9-5 job. He made no attempt to improve his game like the great ones do. Had he applied himself, he could've been a borderline great one.

Pass-Catcher: Owen Daniels $4

I wanted AJ, but I only have $21 to work with. OD had sweet hands & was a very reliable receiver.

Running Back: Ben Tate $2

Solid RB for $2. Tough runner with good speed & decent hands out of the backfield.

Offensive Line: Duane Brown $5

Finally!!! Carr gets the Pro Bowl OT he never had.

Defensive Line: Seth Payne $1

Seth was a very good interior lineman. He was country strong against the run & quick enough to collapse the pocket & put pressure on the QB. A steal at $1.

Linebackers: DeMeco Ryans $4

A great all-around MLB. He was a definite leader on the field & well respected. After he recovered from his injury he was traded to Philadelphia where the fans love him (And they're not an easy crowd to win over). He was never given a chance to play in the 3-4, but it's my belief he would've adapted & along with Cush would've given us one of the most dynamic MLB combinations in the league.

Secondary: Kareem Jackson $1

Kareem for $1 is an absolute steal. Solid CB that is improving with each new year.

This game would be more fun if they gave you $66 & you had to build a starting offense & defense. That's 22 players at an average of $3 each. Or, you could make it more challenging & go with $2.50 each ($55).

For $21 to have any functionality at all I came up with the following. It should be an 8-8 team and be fairly entertaining at times. And these players are not best players that I would choose, nor should any be on any kind of "All Time" list, but this is the best lineup I could come up with that MIGHT function as a team for the $21 bucks.

$21 is USFL budget, I demand an NFL budget or I'll skip training camp.

Playing this game makes me sad, realizing what we've had to go through...

QB Sage $3
Schaub is by far the best QB we've had in Texans history, but it's hard to spend top dollar on him. I also wanted to go Keenum to save some money, but can you really pick a QB that has never won a game?

Receiver AJ $5
The greatest Texan of all time, enough said. It's difficult to not include him on any "all time texans" team.

RB Dayne $1
I need to save money somewhere. In the age of the diminishing role of the RB, I go for the cheapest guy.

OL Pitts $2
I went best value here. I would have taken Newton if he added $2 to the cap.

DL Watt $5
Best defensive player in the game today, easily already the best Texan defender ever... will be the face of the franchise for many more years to come.

LB Ryans $4
We miss his leadership greatly!

DB KJ $1
Not thrilled about this pick, but a solid player for only $1. I'll take it.
