Hadn't seen anyone start a thread yet about players we have interviewed or are rumored to be interested in.

Houston Texans:
Ra'Shede Hageman, DL, Minnesota (SR)
Jack Mewhort, OL, Ohio State (SR)
Stephen Morris, QB, Miami (SR)
Jordan Tripp, LB, Montana (SR)

NOTE--- (SR) = Senior Bowl meeting.

Jack Mewhort, OL, Ohio State (http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2013/12/no_4_jack_mewhort_ranking_the.html)
The Big Ten blog at ESPN.com said Mewhort not making the first team for the coaches was "hard to believe." Maybe that's because Urban Meyer didn't only consider Mewhort the Buckeyes' best offensive lineman, but best "offensive player," and when Meyer tried to rest an aching Mewhort a bit against Illinois, the Buckeye stumbled. "He's not just a pretty good player, he's the man. He's the rally point, the leader," Meyer said that day after Ohio State's 60-35 win. Maybe if the coach had a vote for this list, Mewhort would have wound up higher than No. 4. From the preseason, when Meyer identified Mewhort as the leader he could most count on after losing several key seniors from 2012, through the end of the season, when those not thinking of Mewhort as a first-team All-Big Ten guy were called out, almost every week, every practice and every game went right for Mewhort.

Not high on any of those guys...

I'd be okay with Mewhort in the 4th but I don't think he would win a starting job. Haven't seen enough of Tripp to form a solid opinion, but from what I've seen I like him don't love him.

Buried in the Sr. Bowl thread...

overall, it is an exercise that I have never seen any relation to who the Texans draft, but at least we might learn some more prospects or something.

He sucks. That's all I really have to say about him. Throws a solid deep ball. Can't throw anything else.

Agree. All of that group were "underachieving"... so maybe that's the characteristic we're going for. :truck:

Or we could just say, "The Texans are interested in nearly all draftable players... until they're not."

We are certainly not hiding our intentions with these interviews so far.
QB, DL and LB arguably our biggest needs.

Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida (COM)
Aaron Donald, DL, Pittsburgh (COM)
Dee Ford, DL, Auburn (COM)
Ra'Shede Hageman, DL, Minnesota (SR)
Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU (COM)
Jack Mewhort, OL, Ohio State (SR)
Stephen Morris, QB, Miami (SR)
Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio State (COM)
Jordan Tripp, LB, Montana (SR)

SR-Senior bowl
COM - combine

Playoffs

Aaron Donald, DL, Pittsburgh (COM)

Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU (COM)

Hmmm... only way to get to Donald is trade down. And Mettenberger. :hmmm:

Interesting.

Donald probably only likely in a trade down or trade back up.

Mettenberger will likely be there at 2:1 or do you have him with a 1st round grade?
