The Texans have claimed veteran linebacker Ricky Sapp on waivers from the Jets. They waived him to make room for Ed Reed.

Good. Hopefully he'll be a better fit than the hobo.

Sapp will provide linebacker depth with Darryl Sharpton (foot) and Joe Mays (knee) dealing with injuries.

The Texans waived RB Ray Graham in a corresponding move to clear a spot on the active roster. Nov 15 - 4:50 PMhttp://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5820/ricky-sapp

Wow! Sharpton's hurt! Now who'd thought that might happen?

I dunno why the Texans continue playing with a 52 man roster while the "pro teams" play with 53. Sharpton is this regimes joppru. CUT him and move on already.

From the comments section:
When the Eagles drafted Sapp he was considered a first round talent who was coming off a major leg injury (I forget what kind), which is why we could get him so late in the draft. The guy has talent, itís just a shame it seems he hasnít shaken off his injury.

So they traded Reed for Sapp and threw in $6M to sweeten the pot. Sounds about par for the course this season.

I expect a chitstorm at Reliant when this season is over.

I doubt McNair enjoys being the laughingstock of the NFL.

Sapp could turn out to be a good pick up if now healthy.

I went looking for a highlight video of Sapp on Youtube just out of morbid curiosity. I mean, everybody looks good in their college highlight videos right? That's why they exist. Everybody had a couple of good days in the four (five?) years they played in college.

First highlight video I'd ever seen where the subject of the video didn't do anything worthy of being called a highlight.

This is the piece they needed to get to 9-7! :toropalm:

I'm more worried about the fact this is winning time for Kubiak...when the playoffs are out of reach. It ruins a high draft pick and probably keeps him around for more season(s) of fail.

Farrah Franklin, who was a part of the R&B group Destiny's Child, had been out drinking with NFL players Daquan Bowers and Ricky Sapp when the three returned to Sapp's house early Sunday.

The two men told police the 33-year-old was "yelling, slamming doors and refused to stop when asked," so they called the police. When law enforcement arrived, they found Franklin lying in a neighbor's yard. She told them she "did not have anywhere else to go and was planning on sleeping in the woods."...

She's the forgotten member of Destiny's Child. Was only with them for a hot second.
