Football Outsiders Week 2 STs Rankings (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamst)

DAVE is a formula which combines our preseason projection with current DVOA to get a more accurate forecast of how a team will play the rest of the season. Right now, the preseason projection makes up 75 percent of DAVE.

Lechler seems to be the only shining light.

This suprises you?

But take comfort in knowing that coach Joe is a great guy, Coach Joe must go.

BTW, Bullock, aka, the fat Aggie is coach Joes handpicked guy.

Football Outsiders Week 2 Overall Efficiency Rating: Houston #16

Houston's offense is ranked 15 (SanDiego 5) & their defense is ranked 11 (Tennessee is 6)

Both the Colts & the Titans are ranked higher in efficiency than we are. The Colts, much higher at 9.

In fairness, I don't believe that we saw much difference in preseason than in the last two games. Shapiro close to Lechler. Bullock, if anything, better than in the regular season.

No, I believe it's using a statistical approach that requires more than 1 or 2 datapoints and at this time, we only have 2 datapoints. With each game that's played, they'll use less and less of the pre-season in their calculations and in a few weeks, they won't be using it at all.

Exactly. The thing that separates the elite from the flash-in-pan guys, is that the elites do it week in & week out over the long haul. 17 weeks is almost an eternity.

Of course, that could cut both ways.

Well, there you have it. Confirmation that the phrase "Nice guys finish last" is true.
