"These guys train so hard that I have to tell them to take a break every now and then," says Hurricanes strength coach Andreu Swasey.

"The U." Says Johnson: "I think a lot of coaches think we come down here and play around." Actually, it's quite the opposite, as Johnson and his pals will tell you. They go down there to be exactly the type of players NFL teams love employing.

Should they be allowed to work out at Miami or should they be with their respective teams?

Should they be allowed to work out at Miami or should they be with their respective teams?Since the teams are in their off-season mode I don't see why it is a problem that AJ is working out in Miami.

Johnson already suspects the Texans will never be interested in letting him spend a majority of his time away from their program.

I don't care where they work out, as long as they do. I am in a rush right now, but I was posing my question with the inclusion of team mini camps because it seems that is where the problems occur.

Capers puts a very high emphasis on players getting/being in shape by the time camp comes around. I am sure he doesn't mind so neither should I.

as long as he has a guy like swasey looking after him don't really care either, look at some of the guys he is training with, you can only get better.

the bottom line is every year they talk about this and it's just during minicamp...not really that big of a deal for the starters...as long has andre is here for training camp every year i don't care where he does his offseason conditioning

Personally, I love it.

I think that those guys have something really special. Working out with a bunch of your peers will always boost your competitiveness. What's better than having a bunch of world-class athletes competing and pushing each other to get better?

Nothing.

Its all good.

When in doubt, just draft a Hurricane.

Not only that but it shows how bad Andre wants to become the best at his position. Andre could be a player that doesn't put much into the offseason and then just be an average receiver. But he wants to be considered one of the best of all times and I for one support that.

What hasn't been mentioned is that it's not only good for the Texans and Andre it's also good for college football. I love the athletes who carry school pride with them to the next level. I think it's great for high school players to get to meet and play with pro superstars when they step onto campus. It instills into them a sense of winning traditions and shows them how hard they are going to have to work to achieve their goals. After all, people like AJ are why you choose to go to a program like Miami.

Dre comes back here for all the camps/sessions/etc. It is the voluntary off-season stuff he doesn't do here - like right now. Some players stay in Houston and work-out at Reliant during the off-season; many players go to their hometowns or wherever.

At least Dre is working out, and intensely. You can't say that about all the players...
